While all of you guys (and gals out there) were ordering your mustangs, I was waiting for my dealership to get their act together....and waiting I did (while they had my deposit for 3 months! :bang: ) I guess I just didn't want to start all over again with another dealer. Last week I finally got the call that I could order and I rushed down to the showroom and picked my options.

In the mean time, my wife met a Ford engineer at a college job fair and told him my story. I got his email address from my wife and wrote him a quick email about the lousy service at my local dealership and their delays in ordering. Meanwhile, my dealer called two days after I ordered and said that Legend Lime can't be ordered for another two weeks! Unbeknownst to me, the email with my complaints went to the district heads of Ford who then contacted the dealer. Maybe this had something to do with the Legend Lime delay.

There is a happy ending to this . The engineer at Ford got me an X Plan pin number and my dealer told me he wouldn't honor it (surprise surprise ). I demanded my deposit back and called a competitor from the showroom floor, drove down the street, put down my deposit, and saved about $1500 in the process.

Well congrats on getting it ordered at least in the end. I order mine tomorrow and so far the dealer has been real helpful so i'm pretty happy. Hopefully nothing goes wrong. *knock on wood*

I've dealt with them. One of the salesmen calls me periodically to push a 2004 Mustang on me even though I've said again and again that I'm only interested in the 2005.

The last time he called a couple of weeks ago, he said GT's wouldn't be available until after mid November (this forum already had posted pics of hundreds of GTs on the factory lot).

I've lived in NOVA for most of my life and have visited that dealer hundreds of times to look at Mustangs, Cobras, etc.
Every time I went there I was approached by a different salesman (or woman). They don't keep employees long and none of them know much about the cars.
It's pathetic.

And they are a blue oval dealership. I guess that doesn't mean much.

Watch out for Monroe Ford in NY too...very similar thing happened to me too. Really ruined a big part of my 05 experience. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=6340

My 1st post here...

I live in Sterling, I bought my 2002 Mustang at Koon's Sterling Ford in Dec. 2001.

I ordered my 2005 GT from the same salesman in Sterling on 9/18. I was given pricing and an "order number" (I think the order number is just an internal tracking number)

I am told that my order was sent to Ford but he won't know the build date until 4 weeks after the order date. I have know way of knowing if this is true or not.

So right now I'm just waiting until mid-october for word on the build and ship dates.

Overall I've been satisfied working with the people at Koon's Ford in Sterling.

Mike

Drive 10 miles and deal with an honest salesman. I know if KevinB was anywhere near me I would.

We've got a dealer group here in Seattle that sofar I've had wonderful experiences with. I went to their Ford dealership looking for a part (starter bolts for the 302, I believe). I pulled up on my motorcycle and asked a couple of sales people where the parts department was. Of course it was down the street half a block, so I used a little turn around they had, and on my way out stopped next to a new Bullitt they had just to look at the window sticker. A new salesman had walked out of the showroom, and yelled at me as I was sitting there. I waved a "no thanks" at him and started to leave. When I got to the street, I looked in my mirror and he was running after me, yelling for me to stop and take a look at the car. Can you say Desparate? The entire time I was there, I was sitting on my motorcycle with my helmet on and it running.

They also have a Dodge dealership, and I had another great experience with the sales manager there while looking for a new truck. I bought a Toyota instead.

I will be looking around for a salesman and dealer I feel comfortable with when I order the Mustang, and you can bet it won't be with any of the dealers in the Bill Pierre group.

If you are working with B.L. down at Koons, I would make sure that your order is in the system. He seems to have his head up his . In my case he was unable/unwilling to get any information about 2005 orders. I knew far more about the car than he did. And if you think the sales manager is any better, think again!

It comes down to the fact that this car "sells itself" and these guys think that they have a licence to be as lazy as possible because of the demand. My complaints fell on deaf ears, but maybe you will have a great experience with them. Who knows?. And I quote the sales manager John, "Why would we sell this car at X-plan prices when we can make alot more selling it for full price to someone else?". This is a short sighted philosophy that only thinks about the short term $$$. They have lost a customer who will probably buy another Ford in the next 5 - 7 years-just not from them.
