i dont want the stripe on my V6

ditto...im hoping boomer is correct about possible delete from order...now if i could just get ford to give us canadains a delete for the wing i would be a happy camper...

pitching the wing will be done within a week of picking the car up.

that's interesting Steve! Your looking at bodywork, to get the holes filled in from the spoiler; or are you going to put a U.S.version on with no spoiler? ----or maybe a ducktail! now there's a thought!
The last thing I feel like doing is welding holes in my brand-new trunklid.

I am going to try and find a dealer in buffalo/detroit area that has a base V6 sonic coupe on the lot and negotiate a swap of decklids and emblems. That shouldn't cost too much, an hour or two of labour, plus the dealer gets to mark their car up.
sounds pretty cool to me! looks like 2 winners here!

Tom,

Invoice + Holdback is the price that the dealer pays Ford for the car.

When they finally sell the car, Ford gives them the holdback as well.

MSRP is the Manufacterer's Suggested Retail Price. It is posted on the windows of the car and on the websites like ford.ca

When it comes time to negotiate, calculate the total price with options using both invoice + holdback and MSRP, you should offer something inbetween.
For Galaxie:

My order would be:

V6 23795/22261=1534
delivery 995/995=0
ac tax 100/100=0
auto 1220/1073=147
16 wheels 150/132=18
iup 535/471=64
anti theft 295/260=35
side air bags 495/436=59
wheel nuts 45/40=5
abs 995/876=119

total difference between msrp and invoice+holdback=1981
half would be=990.50

therefore offer would be msrp and above options=28625-990.50=*27,634.50*

this look ok?

tom,

I am not a car saleman, but that seems like a reasonable offer.

The best thing to do would be go from dealer to dealer and offer that, or perhaps contact them via email.

Maybe our canadian salesman 67GTA will chime in and give his opinion on that price.

Hmm so by my calculations a fully loaded GT would cost $41328.75 MSRP here in Edmonton. Man that's a lot of dough. :hiding: Welps that pretty much made it clear to me that I wont be getting a new Mustang anytime soon. If I had the money I definatly buy an '04 SVT Cobra. Cheaper and more power. But hey that is just my opinion anyways.
cheaper? This past Sat. at our mustang meet there was a guy there with an 04 Cobra. Told me the time he got it home it cost him $52,000.
My guess is that that guy got his '04 Cobra at the beginning of the '04 MY. The reason I believe that is because here in Edmonton AB Ford Dealers are seeling them for $28000 MSRP without taking into account GST. That would put it around $36000 fully loaded. Gotta love it when Ford dealers here took off like $7000 off of all '04 Mustangs back in June. '04 GT's at the beginning of the '04 MY were only $28000 (again without GST). So now you can buy a Cobra for that same price. Mybe it's just me but I do believe that is a heck of a better deal then dishing out $41328.75 (including GST) for a 300hp GT. Granted yes the '05s look better and all but they cost much more now. Which is another thing. I orginallly thought that the new GT's were like $975-1300 more then the '04s when they were brand new. But by my calculations they are a lot more. '04 here as I stated at the beginning of the '04 MY was ~$28000 MSRP, and the new '05 GT's are $32795 MSRP. That's a $4795 increase form an old generation to the next (give or take a few thousand because I can't quite remember exactly how much dealers were seeling GT's for but it wasn't much higher then what I posted). Maybe its just me but now that I think about it the new '05 GT's aren't much of a deal after all.

Thanks for the any input.

Because of the fact that I might have to wait for delivery and summer would be over or perhaps I should wait for the 2006 model?

Im looking at an 06 GT can anyone shed some light on the pricing as far as Xplan goes

Looking for leather and IUP maybe the wheel upgrade but I have a feeling its gonna cost over a G

Forgot to mention Im looking for a decent dealer in the GTA as well that will not only accept X plan but easy to deal with before, during and after the sale. A contact would be even sweeter

thanks in advance

All the prices you heard originally about the o5 only being about $1300.00 more than the 04 were US prices. However, they were not 100% correct. At any rate, get an x plan. My 05 GT fully loaded including shaker 1000 (did not get automatic or side airbags) was MSRP $37,800.00 and I picked it up for a heck of a lot less than that. Anyway, I wish they were as cheap here as they are in the states. By the time I have $50,000.00 invested in mine, someone in the US will have the same mods for about $32,000.00 :bang:

So how can one get on the XPLAN?

And I thought those were only US plans? They also work in Canada?

Thanks, that helps quite a bit. As far as X plan goes I believe it is for people who work for companies associated with Ford. Im not sure if they've upped it to F&F like they have in the US or whether they have done that with the A plan yet but Ill ask around at work in the next little while.

You can get x-plan here in Canada. I have gotten x-plan pins for a few people here on the message boards.
