Busted my passenger side mirror housing
Busted my passenger side mirror housing
backing it in the garage at night and my old dog got too close to my car and I paid more attention to the dog than the backing in. The mirror hit a community trash bin handle that happened to be hanging out and the same height as my mirror. Crap. Has anyone else had this broken, then replaced? How much is this stupid mistake going to cost me? I hate hurting my car. Just ordered some S100 wax too. It's going to look real nice all shined up with a freakin' mirror hanging off. %^#@!
I hear ya on the whole, "injury to the car" thing...
Sucks!!
In any case tho, it wont be too steep to replace. 70-80 bucks depending on where you can find them.
Here's one example.

This morning I ended up ordering from my local dealership for $122.00. The online places had lower prices but I'm in Virginia and they are in California and ground shipping might not get it to me for a week. If I ordered online with fast shipping it ends up being the same or more than the dealer's price. So, I ordered from the dealer and they will have it tomorrow morning. Thanks for the help any way.
Yeah, Online shipping is a killer. Minimania, (Have a Cooper also) had paint pens for $9 on sale, then they wanted $9 shipping. For a freakin Paint Pen that costs $1.39 to ship?? No thanks, I'll go to the Stealership and pay $20 and get it right then.
It's really easy to replace. Pull the inside cover straight back, and it reveals the 3 nuts holding the mirror housing on (10mm bolt as I recall), the wiring is a quick disconnect. If you check Craigslist you can find them on there frequently as well.
