Braided hose

I could care less about any increase in hp or torque but it sure did help with throttle response. There was an unbiased dyno done that claimed 11 ft/lbs but I cant say it does anything more than help remove lag.
I'll eventually get back to the dyno and see if its worth anything for me.

These are made by Spectre Performance. You cut them to length yourself and you can find them at Autozone or one of their other dealers.

Must have been someone on another site. I see you use Earl's, not the spectre crap.
How much did your hoses run you btw?

Just out of curiosity, why are the Spectre braidedhoses crap?

I was wondering that also. The ones I purchased seem fine to me.

The durability of the hose ends are questionable in my years of experience with them, they just arent as tough as Aeroquip, Earls and Russels.
My opinion is based on fuel and nitrous system delivery. I need hose that can handle more than 1000 psi in some cases.
Spectre does not cater to my needs and I dont trust their hoses to even handle my 45psi of fuel within the lines.
If you are just trading out breather hoses, it doesnt really matter. I stick with higher end quality parts and I like the matching look that everything has under my hood. The rubber isnt the greatest quality and has low psi burst but the stainless steel is fine for looks.
Remember folks, these are just my opinions and "Crap" doesnt
mean that something is gona fail.
Lastly, Spectre is not a high end brand name either, its lower end stuff and they dont market it as anything more.

Hey Dan, now that Christmas is over any updates on you getting together a couple if kits? I'd like the V6 with the blue ends. I'm ready to buy any time as long as the price is reasonable. I'd reather pay someone to make a kit than try and figure it out myself.

It's not hard to do. I'm not done with my bay yet, but here's an example. I'm sure there are tools to cut through the braided steel, but I just used my Dremel. Nice clean cut through the hose as well. Pretty easy to do. However, if a kit can be gotten for a reasonable price, that would be cool too.

Thanks to you MTAS. Appreciate all the info and the offer to ship stuff to me. It's now good to know that Autozone will ship to me...and for free.

Your Engine bay looks great Alex, what products did you use and how do you get the right fit? That's one of my problems I like the look big time but have no talent for this kind of stuff.

Thanks. These are the Spectre hoses. As Cleveland said, maybe they aren't high performance hoses, but for vacum and normal fuel line, who cares as long as you're not running high presure through them. Based on what he said, I don't know this first hand. I see them lasting as long as OEM.
Really, there's nothing to it. If you want, I can consolidate all the info MTAS gave me in numerous PMs and send you one PM with the info plus what I did to make it work. I still need to do the PCV on the passenger side to the CAI, but the CAI fitting was too big so I had to order a bigger hose.
You can get a kit from Cleveland or order from Autozone. Stock comes with blue and red fitting already attached (see MTAS gallery). You just take one off and cut the hose, then put it back on. Or, like me, I wanted all blue, so I ordered the hoses and fittings seperately.
