Here is the entire kit including the harness (this is the one I found to work with the 02). the only thing you will see is the little control pad everything else will be under the console.

Here is it installed on the 06. Believe me when I say the only one that come close to the features of the Mobile Ease system is the Motorolla. I researched it throughly. other than the Mic. issue with the motorolla it is a good system, but I will take the mobile ease anyday.

Thank you. Finally some useful information.

Why is it so difficult for Ford to provide us with this info in a Mustang brochure?

It's much better than that Visteon solution posted earlier, though still not great stuck to the dash like that.

But I'm wondering where the information display shows up? Through your audio system? In other words, someone calls you, how do you know who it is? Or is this beyond the capability of the system?

I'm also wondering if it plugs into the AUX IN on the back of your head unit, such that you can no longer use the iPod jack in the center console. That would really PO me, again, because Ford give you no data on potential conflicts or loss of features when ordering one accessory in combination with another.

You can put the pad any where. That is just where I put it. it is fairly easy to reach with out moving my had to far from the wheel. Any of the aftermarket one will be mounted in a similar fashion. The moto. just sticks on just like this. It doesn't display any caller ID info. I don't even think the factory ones from BMW display any caller Id although they are intergrated into the dash. The harness doesn't plug into any aux port. It plugs into two of the regualr connectorson the back of the radio and the factory harness piggy backs into it. I have attached a How to I made for the 02. Not the same harness part no., but the install is very similar.

After reading through this thread, I bought a Parrot CK3000 Evolution from Crutchfield. They have a harness from Metra that is suppose to make the entire install plug and play.
I was also wondering if Parrot manufactures the Mobile Ease for Ford. Mobile Ease looks very similar to the previous version of the CK3000.

wow your right , finally some real info, however I have found the one I am going to buy and a company that seems to provide more info than you could ever use. Including a live chat thread for any questions.

this is the one....However you can get mobile-ease for $125 and this unit is $250....
AND one final thought on the subject... I wish they made a Bluetooth unit that would display all the info on the NAV screen, I would be the first in line....

The only problem I see with the kit above is that it doesn't say anything about direct number dialing. With the Mobile Ease system you don't have to put every number in the phone book. If you need to call a number that is not in your phone book, say a one time call to a store or something like that. With the Mobile Ease system all you have to do is say dial and it will ask you for the number, just say the number. It repeats it for verification, then you say dial and it dials the number. The Motorolla IHF1000 does this as well.

Tinpony2, It works fine. I like that you can dial from the phone book and directly voice dial a number. In fact I just added the nav unit to my 06. It installs just like any of the other Ford radios. It just piggybacks on the factory harness. A couple of posts back (post 24 actually) I attached the install instructions I created for the 02. The install would be the same for any year, just the harness is longer for the 05+ so the module will fit under the console.

Mobile Ease w Convertible

I looked into the Mobile Ease a while ago and it wasn't possible to order it on a convertible. Is there any reason why it can't be installed in a vert?

How'd that nav installation go?

I have a feeling it isn't that it CAN'T be installed in a vert, it's just that it's not that great of an idea. I have the Motorola handsfree in my vert. It works great... WITH THE TOP UP. Top down, you can't hear a thing unless you are stopped!! Makes the handsfree function kinda useless with the top down.

After I ordered the Parrot unit I mentioned in a post above, I thought about it and came to the same conclusion. I am going to return the harness and install the Parrot in one of my other cars. Also, the Metra plug and play harness was huge. I don't know were I would have stuffed everything.

Talking on the phone and driving at the same time is more dangerous then drinking and driving.

Jmart: There is no reason you can't install it on a vert. I had a Motorolla IHF1000 installed in my 02 and like 2k5gtc said with the top down it is hard to hear or be heard. With the mobile Ease you can hear just fine, sometimes the caller has trouble hearing you, but not as bad as the motorolla. The mic just seems to work better.

Here's what the Parrot 3200LS COLOR looks like in my '07 GT. I chose this over the other products because of the color display that shows caller ID pictures when people call, and the ability to customize the background, etc. Love how it mutes the music when a call comes in... though I think they all do that. The grey plastic on the control pad exactly matches the interior of my car. Installation took about half an hour.

As for asthetics, I'm happy with it and don't think it makes the interior look cheesy or dorky. I mounted the control pad right near where I keep my right hand on the steering wheel, so I can easily reach it. These things are well worth the money... can't talk and shift, otherwise.

Hope this helps someone...

+1

Unfortunately my profession dictates that I need to be accessible just about 24/7. I force myself to focus more on my driving whenever I'm on the phone. The folks that argue that hands free helps don't really understand the issue. The problem is that talking on the phone tends to require far more concentration than talking to a person sitting next to you. That said, I think that an integrated kit such as the Mobile Ease or Parrot will improve the problem somewhat since you won't need to strain so much to hear the other caller. That's my problem anyway.

Just a heads up: I learned today that if you factory order the Mobile Ease feature, they mount the control fob to the PASSENGER side of the center console stack.
