Best way to close the hood?

Dropping it is safer. Seems like different cars have a 'magic' height after opening and closing entire rows of them at a time. The cars with the scoops and the GT500 close easilly with a shorter drop. Plus, no handprint by dropping

Same here, my previous dealer told me right off the bat when I opened the hood to NEVER push on the hood to open it from about a foot and let it drop.
