I admit I haven't read through this whole thread (too long, too late at night), but seeing as I've seen another thread or two on the topic and it is one that people are most interested in, perhaps this, or a similar thread with the latest news on My Color, IUP, etc should be stickied.

Or just left to die now that I think we all know what's going on now. It's funny how rumors get started.

I fell for it myself, my info came from a person in a position such as Karpro, and passed it on to another associate who passed it on to me. I heard legal issue.

The funny thing is all these lawsuit rumors probably prompted that email to clarify what the real problem is.....which is actually good.

Thanks Karpro ~ I was actually thinking that maybe they just wanted to give delphi a few weeks to get the my color going & to get a small surplus of them.

Also I called the Ford Customer Service Relationship Center tonight & the guy I spoke to said that my car was built like today & that the ETA is 1/10. I am cautiously optimistic & will be calling them again at least twice tomorrow (hoping for 3 different & that all 3 say the same) & am then calling my dealer Sat.

If it's true then I will soon be joining you guys in the banna dance. If not then I am still banging my head against the wall. Either way I feel for ALL of you guys who are ready to storm the Ford plant & build the cars yourselves.

Cheersmates

BTW Is it possible to go from "submitted to the plant" to "built" in 4 days with an expodite order?
I did the same thing and got 2 answeres I like and 1 I didn't. The 1st two said the car would be here Jan17th and the 3rd said the first two answers were wrong and that my car wasn't even eligoble for a build date until Jan 24th. So good luck.

I guess the ends justify the means.

I didn't call my dealer I went down and looked at the computer.I had a build week of 12-13-05, now it says that it has a ETA of 12-28-05.I hope to have it and driving it before the 31st.
I hope you get you deal worked out.I know what it's like to wait for a car. My 94 took a little more than 4 months to come in.This one if it gets here when they say will be just over 3 months from the time I ordered.

Wow! You talk about being delayed! Your car isn't going to be built until December of 2005?
what does one do w/ all that wait time????? ooh. I know.. maybe modify a post???? [/b][/quote]
Can you tell I have 05 on the brain? I go to take a nap then to work the grave yard shift and come home to see what I did, I have changed it now.

Does any body know for sure if this applies to Canada. At the end of Karpro's last email it said "In the U.S.A".

All this stinks. You wait 10 years for a car that just strikes you as awesome and wham something gets screwed up. I wanted to order it in January for a summer car, getting it around March or April....now I have to wait until February and my dealer said I would get that one in July August. So much for being summer car with only two months too drive it. Looks like maybe 2006 is the better choice!! I WANT MY COLOR!!! :bang:

Well as far as this fiasco affecting cars built this week - NOT! My car had a build week of 12/13, and I just got a call from the dealership saying the car is BUILT and will be at the dealership on 1/3 or earlier. This is MG/IUP/ICAP/stick/spoiler delete/bullitts

The worst part is if Delphi is the holdup not able to keep up with supply demand they posted on their financial website they were cutting 8,500 jobs for cost issues.

Sawi it on their website and heard it on the evening news last week.

"Does the hold apply to Canadian cars too?
Just because our gauges are in French (KM) instead"

Who the h*** says our gauges are in French?? Metric is a European system of measurement that is used world-wide - it's not French. I would prefer reverting to the Imperial system, certainly, but I don't consider metric to be French, nor do I consider myself to be.

Kilometers are the SI unit for measuring distance, does anyone other than the U.S. use miles?

Take this with a grain of salt, but my salesman at my dealership told me that the "18G" option IUP, will not be available in January, and beyond. The "and beyond" could me anything. Hopefully it doesn't mean several months.

This info came to him from the Zone manager out of Atlanta.

I just love how a few people are bashing me when all the facts are right there. IUP was on hold for V6 but being released in small allocations to GT's with high priority. Then after 1 month on hold on 12/8 the IUP hold for V6 is removed and scheduling suddenly increases for V6 with IUP builds, then a week later on 12/14 ALL IUP are on hold including those that were previously released to the build schedule had now been reveresed.

Sure the line guy says that some cars are still being built with IUP but how many ? and were the chassis already setup for IUP so they had no choice but to continue building those pans that already were wired for IUP.

I am just pissed because my car is one of those that HAD a build date but now is just in limbo again.

Some good news! Just spoke to my dealer. I placed my order on 11/26/04 – priority code 10. My dealer has a good allocation as well. My vehicle is equipped with IUP. I have received a VIN and am still scheduled for the week of 1/10/05. If I understand the original email correctly it states that no additional Mustangs will be scheduled for remainder (remainder being the key word) of the month of January. I believe if you have already been scheduled you are still OK.

IUP
Wheel Locking Kits
