Where can I find the kit that will automatically turn my headlights on and off?

Try the Ford Accessories website/catalog or give Kevin a call.

That was the first question I had when I picked up my car in June. Second was "Auto-Dim Mirror??" I, and a Ford Parts friend, researched the delayed headlight option and could not find anyway of retrofitting it into the Mustang. The wiring harness does not suuport it. Attempted to use everything from a Crown Vic to an F150 set up, but the Mustang headlight connector has to be used in order to keep the circuits and the instrument dimming functioning properly. I even tried the Explorer delay system from the mid 90's (built into the rearview mirror.. see question two) but no luck. The unit advertised on the Ford accessories site will not work. The wireless/keyless entry does, though. As for an "Auto-Dim" mirror, I used one from a Crown Vic that also had a compass. 3 simple connections later and a huge improvement.

I think the Web Electrics site has those I thought I saw them when I bought my sequential tail lights.

Wow, cool!
I gave up on the idea thinking those 3 connections were a show stopper. At least they might be on a convertible, right?

I suppose these mirrors do not work on batteries :-(
Did you get the wiring from the ceiling lamp?

You've got to run a wire down the A-pillar to the fuse box under the passenger side dash and connect there. I've been thinking about getting the autodim mirror also.

Not a "step by step" breakdown, but... pull the pass side kick panel, "A" pillar cover, pass side sunvisor, rear view mirror and also remove glove box door. Pull down, unplug and remove maplite/power top housing. Drill 3/8" hole in center roof line cover, feed Auto-dim wires thru hole, across header, down pillar behind glovebox. 1. Make ground connection to any easy to reach location. I used location on lower post, beside fuse panel, (10mm screw). 2. Attach power to Acc/Run hot lead (on when car is running, or ignition is in acc position, otherwise always off). 3. Second power lead attaches to back-up lite lead in main harness running to rear of car (under sill panel). This wht with yellow stripe wire has to be hot when shifter is in reverse, off at all other times. this connection controlls/cancels the auto-dim when car is in reverse, so you can see clearly thru the rear view mirror. Total install took less than 1 hour.
