I purchased a GT redfire with a manual. My thought was I could sell it qiuck if I didn't like it. Well I loved it but grew tired of shifting. I had my hot cars with the manuals back in the 60s so shifting was out of my fun system. My son who never has even owned a warm car much less a hot one now drives and loves it. I will order an auto for myself. I can drive in traffic and drink my coffee at the same time plus answering the phone like I currently do in my OLD FARTS Town Car or Explorer and the dog does not set off the alarm or seat belt chime. LOL

But - a manual still has that special 'connected' feel to the driver that an auto-equipped car does not share. And for some, it is the ONLY way to truly 'feel' the nuances of the car's performance envelope. I certainly agree with that line of thinking too!

Interesing that a big reason for buying an auto tranny is wife/girlfriend/daughter. How long does it take to learn how to shift gears on a car? Not that I'd let someone use my car to learn...
Unless you deal with heavy traffic all the time, the fun is with a stick.
No offense whatsoever to those drivers who prefer them, but when I saw a Red on Red fully loaded GT last night with an auto, I thought, darn, too bad...

5 speed manual. Just because it feels good. I've driven manuals, then traded them for some automatics, wasn't satisfied driving them and wanted to get back into a manual. It's so much more enjoyable to drive, especially in this newly designed Mustang.

B) My choice is an auto. Been driving 5 speed stick for 5 yrs. Got to give my leg a break! It's fun at times driving manual, but at 54 it's time to cruzzzz! Happy Trails!

This will be my first m/t, my camaro was a auto which i just sold about 5 days ago because I needed the cash for my GT. My parents have a 5-speed in there camaro and I have been driving the poo out of that. I can't do any of that fast and furious stuff but i'll learn~ hopefully...

If I had a 6 then I might consider an automatic...With the GT, you just gotta go with a 5 speed... That's what makes a sports car a sports car, at least IMO. Just nothing like the sound of winding those gears out.
