I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but I am just now getting around to it.

I ordered 1/28, and mentioned the AQHA discount. The dealer told me it was for lease only. He showed me the official-looking form on the computer showing it's not available on the Mustang for purchase. He also said that if it where a truck, it would be ok since the rebate is geared toward farmers, etc.

Now everything I have seen about the rebate says "PURCHASE" of "ANY" Ford vehicle. So what gives? Is there any reason for the dealer to give me BS about it?

He also added that at the time of sale, any rebate can be recinded (right word?). So if I had the AQHA now, by the time I get the car, they may pull it. Can they do this? All of the forms I have say "This is not an invoice." Is that how they get out of it? When he said that stuff, I started getting pretty woried about ordering from the place, but he indicated that my 1% over invoice is safe, just any other rebate may change.

Opinions anyone?

If he IS lying, why? Does not the dealer get reimbursed the $500?

there's not really a reason for it, they get the cash either way. One dealer i talked to tried to tell me that i had to submit a from to AQHA to be reimbursed....this is also a lie, it is handled by the dealer at the time of purchase.

It went VERY smoothly for me.

Good luck

I bought mine and got the discount. Who knows he may tell you that you can't use it and then submit it and make 500 extra! Don't let him get away with it.

Ooooo, I never thought of that! I'll make sure I get it if it's still available when the car shows up. Now I just have to wait for the darn car.

Thanks guys!

Yep - waiting is sure the name of the game around here! At least enjoy your horse mag in the meantime! My wife thinks that mag is great. I'm sure glad we can't have non automotive horses here!!!!

I hope I'm not opening a whole 'nother can of worms but my dealer gave me this printout yesterday showing all incentives in my area. I'm not sure which can be combined. So far I only qualify for the AQHA:

Couldn't tell you what can be combined . . . but you have raised another question about my problem. Is the AQHA discount not available in my region?

I havn't recieved a mag yet, but I enjoy taking the quiz in the emails. I always wondered what thrush was!
