...they would honor an X-Plan but couldn't provide me with an exact price until the car was built and they got thier cost from Ford.

Does that make any sense?

(By the way, they also said, based on their current allocations, I'd be looking at year-end delivery.)

As always, thanks for any input you can offer. Everything I hear from the dealer seems to put a new twist on things. I'm trying to figure out what to say to him in return.

That is true about X-Plan. Sometimes there are X-Plan incentives that make the price better, but they may not know until the last minute. Also, there is no negiotiating X-Plan pricing. They may be able to give you a better deal negiotiating price without X-Plan.

RaGsHoCkEy88,

I wish I had the option. I have only 3 dealers readily accessible to choose from. Only one will honor the X-Plan.

Either I:
1) Wait a long time
2) Pay a higher price
3) Try to order an 06 (which will also entail more waiting)
4) Try and order a V6 (I assume I can get one quicker)

If you have an X-Plan PIN, I would think they'd have to offer it.

Log into Ford Partners, go to forddirect.com and it will log the cookies, create your car. Print it out and show it to them.

Altoid,

What's Ford Partners? I saw this posted once before, but I don't know what it means, where it is, or how I access it?

Like Brad said, Karpro said the same thing to me when I ordered my car this past Monday the 14th. He's selling me the car at $200 under dealer invoice price but if at the time of delivery there is an X-Plan incentive which makes the price drop he'll go that route and save me some bucks!
Is KARPRO "THE MAN" or what!?

I think the website is http://www.fordpartners.org/ . It's not working here; maybe it's just my office.

If not, my dealership just put in my options and printed them out for me (order on priority 99, wont be submitted to ford) and it generates the Xplan price. I didn’t give them my Xplan PIN until yesterday only because I told him I didn’t want to forget it when I was picking up my car.

I found that too, but it's not a Ford site. So be careful entering your Xplan number as it is tied to the last 4 of your social.

The X-plan does not have to be honored by the dealer. If you have a dealer that will honor the plan then do it, the best that can happen is that there are incentives at delivery, the worst is that you misss out on a 2005.

No way...I was turned down by many dealerships, they said it was their option to except xplan or not>
