Talking Anybody else wearing an S-197 smile?

Yesterday was one of those days when everything seemed to go wrong. There was a power outage so I was late getting up and had to shave by candlelight. When I got to work the boss was already in bad mood. Every e-mail and phone call was another problem. I had to work right through lunch, and by the time I left work it was a record breaking 102 degrees. You could feel the heat radiating off the car from 5 feet away. Even with the air conditioner on, I had to roll the windows down to get the car cool off. The steering wheel was so hot I couldn’t touch it, and the leather seats were burning my butt . On the way home I started thinking about how my wife would start complaining the minute I walked through the door because I forgot to put the garbage out. I was halfway through the silent prayer that we all use on days like this: “God, just let this day be over.”

That’s when it happened. A guy in a green Cobra (with a killer exhaust note) pulls up along side me, rolls down his window, flashes a big smile, and give me a thumbs up. I return the compliment as he gives it the gas and shoots off into the setting sunset. That’s it. That’s all it took to plaster a big smile on my face. People wonder why we love our Mustangs. I think I’ve figured it out. It’s because you can’t have a bad day driving one of these cars.

I don't know about you, but when I have a bad day at work it all comes to an end at the very sight of my car waiting for me. I could have the worst day in the world, but when I see my Stang every bad thought I have literally goes away.

A colleague of mine asked my wife if she is annoyed about my love for my car. Her reply was that it makes him (referring to me) so happy she can't imagine what life was like before I got it.

You're right though, when you see a fellow Stang (especially a Cobra) it really pumps you up.

I hear ya, I got mine out of the trailer last night. It had been 9 day since I drove it last and with lightning and thunder all night I was like I gotta do it! I am still smiling this morning. It is raining here today so I am glad I done it last night.

i could have the worst day at work but when i get to the parking lot and see my mustang waiting for me, it all seems to go away. theres no such thing as a bad driving day with a mustang. especially when someone else tells you nice ride, or gives u the thumbs up. yesterday me and my friend were goin to chilils for 2 for 1's and i was driving the mustang. a guy next to me had his wife and kids in his old minivan and he just couldnt take his eyes off my car. he gave me the thumbs up and i just gave the nod and took off. i knew he was dead inside but atleast my car put a smile on his face.

I have a SN95 smile everytime I slide behind the wheel of my supercharged beauty.

If I want to challenge the "Twisty" roads I get into my BMW Z4 and have an E 85 smile on my face!!

If I want to make a quick trip to Home Depot to get a load of mulch I jump into my "Lightning Powered" Harley Truck and have a F150 smile on my face.

If gas prices go up then I jump into my Sonic Blue Focus and have a SVT smile on my face as I cut and thrust trough traffic!!

Yeah, it's only my second day, but I'm pretty sure my mustang has made me completely immune to bad days for the rest of its life.

Everything has been going rough for me since last month in my personal life. My girl and I broke up wedsnday after 3 years of going no where and I have to go get a new place today. When one goes through that crap, nothing seems to go right. I'll be fine though...Anyways, when I got in from work about 9 last night and as I was walking to my car, I said to myself,"Look at my baby. That's MY baby right there." I had this big ol' Kool-Aid smile on my face. I fired "Misty" up and she belched out that loud cold start rumble. LOVE IT!!! A few minutes later I was on my 6 mile highway jaunt. Jumped on her hard to 70 mph and I busted out laughing. My car is bone stock(funds don't warrant mods yet) and I still get tickled pink with it's power. Hey, me and mine are alive and well, I get to go to a great job five days a week and I drive a Mustang. Heh, heh. Yes, life is STILL good.

Mine is more a 65% S197/ 35% SN95 smile. I'm absolutely ecstatic that I have a Mustang that I can use as a daily driver and a huge smile comes on my face whenever I see either Pony...but even when I drive the '03 I find myself hoping the weekend will come (with perfect weather) so that I can take the '06 for it's weekend jaunts. Likewise during the weekends, I sometimes wish that it would go by faster so I can get back into the '03 (since it's my new toy) since they feel like two difference vehicles and I enjoy them both.

I just think I'm a confused Mustang owner, lol.

Amen to that 364! Well said. Man are you a poet or what?
Seriously though, I think we all understand what you went through that day. Everyone has those days once in a while. We have to remind ourselves what we should be grateful for and this passion for Mustangs is one of those things. If every human being on this planet was passionate about something positive, it would certainly be a better world.

Bad days at work are nothing compared to what I am dealing with right now. My Mom is in the hospital- has cancer and is not doing well at all....Went to visit today and my Dad said for me to go after being there several hours... Went to the deck where my carefully parked beauty was...and went out in the sunlight and tore up the streets. I have to say I actually feel a bit better each time i get in the car....and then I went for a quick trip to a grocery store and when I came out a group of 3 young guys were checking it out , they even asked to see the engine.....so even though part of my day was crap, it wasn't too bad ...

You are right, These cars & their colors always put smiles on our faces. My Grabber Orange Stang puts a smile on my face even just thinking about her.
I like to say, 43,000 miles & Even More Smiles.
That's right, 14 months & 43,000 miles. I Love to drive my Stang.

The day's trials and tribulations melt the moment I hit the on-ramp, my foot hits the floor, and the tach hits 6k.
