alloy----------------------------------------black
We recieved our 2007 SUV Color Chips today! The Alloy Grey Mustang Color is also used on The Suv Line.
I realize a scan does not do this justice but if you would like to see it in person you can now go to your local dealer and see a Large Swatch. The Alloy is almost black with metallic in it!

No visible difference on my computer here at work. Maybe at home on my LCD monitor I'll be able to notice some kind of difference. Thanks for posting that though.

I had the same color on my 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9. I loved it then, I would buy it now. Except in bright sun it looks black; in the sun it looks better than black (no swirls or dirt).

Hmmm... All the benefits of black...none of the drawbacks. Hmmm...

Still shows dirt like a female dog though like black...

Hmmm, I'm guessing in sunlight you will be able to tell more of a difference.

Roy, you can definitely tell a difference in the sunlight. My dealership got the chips in too, and it it really a dark, dark, gray, with metallic in it. Porsche has this color, and they call it Basalt Black. Not bad looking.

Geez I wish the GT/CS came in Alloy Grey. I'd be all over it.
Also, after reading more and more.... I don't think the normal GT is going to have two-toned seats. Only the GT/CS will get two-toned leather seats. Such a letdown...
Realize this is a threadjack, but how much would it cost to get leather or vinal inserts like the GT/CS has in place of the leather seating surfaces?

I have seen a similar shade on other manufacturers' models. It's a killer color.
I would not be surprised if it out sells the black.
Does the Alloy Grey have any shade of bronze or copper?

I may have found a color that solves my Redfire versus Vista Blue issues. I want a classic color such as Redfire, and at the same time I want something that will not be available on every coming year Mustang built. I don't want a fad color that I may regret in a few years. I want something different that will not be seen again in a few years such as Vista Blue, and although today it could be the closest thing to the perfect medium to dark blue out there, I am just not quite sure if it is the exact shade of blue to stand the test of time. I am hoping that is as dark as it appears on KC's post. It appears much darker than in the Alloy Grey Shelby GT500 video that I have seen. Can't wait to see it in person. Thanks again Kevin. Kevin,
My tenant has a 98 escort. Looking at it from any distance, even up close, the car looks black, but you have to almost lay your face on the car to see that it is not black, but a very very dark gray metallic, with just a very little hint of a copper hue to it; it's that close. The tag on the inside drivers door say "ext pnt" UC. I think the c might stand for charcoal.
Can you tell me if alloy is the same color that came on the 98 Escort ? Ford seems to like to recycle colors every couple years, but add a diff. name for some reason. Maybe from buying paint in bulk, who knows!
( like your diagram ) it sure freaked me out!
If it's not the same color how much difference is there between the 2 ???? Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hey Merlot, hope you don't mind me helping out. I am at work, and looked at our old '98 Source Book. that color on the Escorts was called Black Satin. It did have alot of mettalic in it. Alloy, from my eyes, looks very similiar to this color. Now granted, the paint chip I have for UC is very small, but the color is close. UC may be a bit darker, as it is a black color. All in all, the color you see, figure a shade or two lighter. Hope this helps.

Don't mind at all. thanks for the info; appreciate it. Your right, I noticed the color diff. also. The alloy looks like it actually has a dark gray (grey) color to it, where as her escort looks black.
I could be wrong, but was'nt there a "liquid gray" (dark) put out only a year or 2 ago?? That color was dark also I think, and seems closer to alloy than the escort UC color; to me anyway. What's your take on that???
My tenant will be surprised to hear black satin. She thinks it's charcoal. Thanks again gt!

Liquid Grey, or as it is more commonly known, Dark Shadow Grey. The color code is CX. They call is a different name for it's use on a Focus, as all Focus colors have a catchy name. THey even had DSG on Mustangs in 2003/2004. I held the large paint chip of Allow and Liquid Grey, and Alloy is ALOT darker. Allow has alot more black in the color. It is more closely matched to that Escort color, UC. I think this will be a very popular color for '07 Mustangs.
