Maybe it's your taste in music, and this is the pony's way of telling you?

Is this problem just with the Shaker 1000? Or with the 500 also??
There no way for me to know, I have the Shaker 1000. But I think the head units are the same for the Shaker 500 and the Shaker 1000.

I went out to my car just now, and the problem is deffinatly persistant. Im going to call the Ford Dealership and have them look at it. [/b][/quote]
Hey, good luck with that. Please keep us posted on the resolution. Thx.

And to clarify---is this only with bought/commercial CDs, or those you burn yourself, or both ??

Man, I hope they fix that little bug before I get mine...Also has anyone heard of a software problem they are having over at Ford. My dealer just told me they are holding all releases because of a software glitch in their systems....any validity to this???

I have had my car for three weeks, and haven't experienced any problems with the 6-disk CD changer as of yet. Knock on wood...

Both Commercial and Burned CDs

Many of which I have played numerous times in the 3 weeks since I got my new Mustang.

Every single CD I have put in it since this problem started has been rejected as bad.

Yea, best thing you can do is take it back to Ford. Expecially if it hasn't worked since the original incident.

If your problem is with CD-RWs it could be the brand you are using. Some of the cheaper brand CD-RWs can't always be read. I suggest using a higher end brand like Maxell. Also, make sure that the player can read CD-RWs I have not heard either way. Some CD players can read CD-Rs but cannot read CD-RWs.

The player stopped working today when I got in the car for lunch, it worked this morning for my drive to work. When I turned the radio on at lunchtime it went to the disk I was playing and ejected it, once that one was gone it tried to goto the next one, ejected that one too. It kept doing this until all the cd's had been ejected.

I had 5 store bought CDs several of which I had listened to this morning.
and 1 burned CD-R with MP3s which I have listened to numerous times.

I took it to the Ford dealership they removed the Stereo. Said they had to send it to Dallas for Warranty exchange or repair.

COOL B) I can see inside my dash thru the big hole where Stereo should be.

Sorry to hear you have no tunage right now. My single-disc player in my '96 Cobra gave up the ghost 2 years after I got it. They slammed a new one in there FOC. 3 yr warranties rock!
I have a walk-man you can borrow until you get your tunes back!

I have the Shaker 500 on my 05 GT, and I bought 4-new cd's on Sunday.
Loaded all of them and 1, poped back out, said it was a bad cd.
No problems until today when on my way to work 2 cd's skipped, no bumps in the road, again new flawless cd's, then about 30-minutes ago on track 3 of a new cd... it poped out and said it was bad.....????

I would get used to this. Ford has never produced a 6 CD changer that worked more than a week. Just ask the Focus SVT guys with the "audiophile package". Most of them are on their 2nd and 3rd CD player. At least it gave you your CD's back. Some of them lost 6 CDs, on top of the player, which Ford would not pay for.
Mine and everyone I know here in the svt community has been fine I dont think ONE has ever been replaced here in 2 years since this store opened, and we sell more then anyone in the region. I have never seen a 'mach' 6-cd break either, and that runs in 5 lines of vehicles.

Sounds like yours is taking a differant path to the same location.

The first signs of problem with mine was today when it rejected all 6 cd's I had previously loaded and then rejected each cd afterwards that I attempted to load, around 9 additional cd's

The dealer took the radio out, sending it off somewhere for Warranty repair or replacement. I hope this doesn't become an ongoing widespread issue.

It sounds like they're having a problem with the Laser/Lens that reads the CD's. I have experienced this with other Stereo's, Home and Auto. It could be something as simple as Contamination on the Lens, Dust or Moisture, but I'm sure it doesn't inspire confidence.

My Mom's 92 Mark VII, has had to have the Stereo replaced 4 times under waranty (Now Expired) but hers was due to the placement of the Stereo so high on the dash. (There's only like an inch and a half between the top of the stereo and the top of the Dash Pad.). The Heat Beating in on the top of the dash just fries the electronics in it.

My 2001 gt has the mach 460 in it with the 6cd changer. Never had any problems until a couple months ago, it keeps telling me an error # but it wont spit the cd out, until i would turn the car off, and back on again pressing eject, then it would give me the cds (1-6)

I had that problem on a 97 GMC Z-71. That was a lense issue. Otherwise, dont be cheap when you buy the cd's for burning. There are several players that I have used over the years of burning that reject crappy cheap cd's. Spend money on the better ones or at least not bulk walmart discs. I currently use Maxell cd-r 80min discs for audio recording and they play flawlessley on my 2003 ranger with in dash 6 cd player.
