A stripped down GT with a $3000 rebate would be around $20k, but not one that starts to get options tacked to the car. FWIW, this discounting really hurts the resale value of older S197s.

Here in the NW, the rebate is $1,500, but it varies regionally. Those Brandon Ford GT's at $20,950 were obviously loss-leaders (sold below their cost) to generate more traffic to their store.

My '07 GT Premium Coupe had an MSRP of $30,300, and D-plan was about $27,300 before rebate ($500 rebate at the time made it $26,800 + tax/license), so $20,950 must be a huge loss, even with a bigger rebate.

For SE MI, I see $2,500 in rebates. $1,000 for delivery by 4/30 and ANOTHER $1,500 for delivery by 6/30.

There's $3,500 in rebates for the MKZ and $6,500 in rebates for the Grand Marquis.

Good price!

Just for reference, I bought my 07 GT stripper for $22,676 plus TTL w/ no trade in. This was when Ford was offering $1500 cash back and was able to haggle the price to this point (about $700 below x plan.)

There was an add in the paper this weekend at a local large franchise for an 08 GT $20,995.00 so I guess it is possible.

Maybe it's a South Florida thing, but their adds all over TV with a $2000 rebate and will take another $1000 off if you purchase by a certain date (or something like that).

Wow, that's a good deal. Maybe I'll get another one just to drive to the airport and downtown.

I just checked X-Plan prices on FordPartners.com and Deluxe 5-speeds with zero options are $23,085 right now. It was $23,900 in October 2007.

Some areas only have $1500, the highest I have seen on fmcdealer(internal) is $2500. They probably had the 'price' plus tax tags fees and freight or some other nonsense. By the math it's pretty much impossible that that price included freight.
