How Funny I Was Just Going To Post an Old Taillight Mod I Did Early on With Tape Stripe I Did To Give Some Separation The Lights! Looks Like You Beat Me To It!

It Was Silver PinStripe Tape! And Here is When The Wife Took Out The New Stang and My Company Truck at The Same Time! It Pretty Much Ended The Newness of The Car!

Like a lot of 05 through 09 Mustang owners I wanted to upgrade the look of the back end of my S197 and Vector taillights were in my sights. But after thinking about it I started to get turned off to the idea. Not that they are bad, quite the opposite, They are quite cool looking but it seems that everyone has them and I prefer to go the path less traveled when I can so... I decided to get these tail light bezels instead. They are very simple but really make the tail lights look more distinctive. And they are a small fraction of the cost of a set of Vectors. Now should I change my mind later its no big deal to switch, I mean these were only about $50... That won't break the bank

If only the Vector V2's had red, amber taillamps instead of the clear euro style, I would purchase those in a heartbeat... I'm just not a fan of the euro, clear style taillamps and much prefer the appearance of the Raxiom Gen 5 taillights which nearly resemble the style of the OEM 2013-14 S197 taillights... Anyhow, just my personal opinion.

For those that aren't familiar with the process. The stock wing is attached with 4 bolts and some adhesive.

Since the adheasive was only recently applied when they repainted the deck lid it felt like it was not so bad to remove. I mean it still took time but wasn't as bad as I expected. Basically we just used rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease

After about 40 minutes of work

With the new spoiler in place. The new spoiler only uses two bolts rather then the original 4 and 3M tape all around the perimeter of the spoiler

While this looks fantastic, it reduced visibility out the back window by about half... This could bite me in the butt at some point but right now I really dig it

Thanks for taking the time to look at our project
I'm actually surprised you didn't consider the 2007-09 GT500 style rear spoiler... It's sort of similar to a duck wing spoiler but doesn't quite reduce rear visibility as much... Anyhow, I do like the look of your duck wing spoiler overall, but now that I see what the rear decklid looks like without a rear spoiler at all, it actually is beginning to grow on me, as it provides more of a sleeker, stealthier type of appearance look.

I thought about the GT500 spoiler and hindsight being what it is should have gotten that one instead if anything because of the visibility aspect. That said I do like the look of the duck.

As for the car with no spoiler I believe that is how the Bullitt cars came. Not sure I like the look without the spoiler but should the opportunity present itself to get a Bullett, I wouldn't turn it down because of the lack of a spoiler...

You're exactly 100% spot about the 2008-09 Bullitt edition... Also, the 2007-08 Shelby GT models did not come with factory rear spoilers... Although, I wouldn't mind the look of having no rear spoiler on my 2006 GT, it would be too much of a hassle trying to locate a replacement decklid which doesn't include the rear spoiler, so I'll just stick with my OEM spoiler and just leave it as is...

This Was Back in 08 But I Know The Spoiler Delete & Hole Plug Question Came Up Even Earlier Than That. Just For Information Sake There Are Plug Kits out There But This Home Brew Looks Better Than What I Have Seen!

You're absolutely 100% spot on about the spoiler delete option back in the day and the aftermarket hole plug kits... However, I didn't like the appearance of those hole plugs... When you see the decklid from close up, it looks as though there are 2 small bumps on each side... So, in the end, I just decided to keep the OEM spoiler intact as is...

Same here, which is the main reason I decided in the end to just stay with the OEM spoiler.

Today the boy and I are off to the Raceway Park swap meet. This is an event my friends and I went to for years when were were teens. Not sure what we will find if anything but will still be another great father/son bonding event.

Knowing that you and your son had a good time together is priceless, as nothing can take away the bond between a father and son.

Here is another project we did to help make our car stand out a bit. This car came with the matte black dash pieces. I was hoping to add the carbon fiber overlay but, EVERYONE does carbon and I want to try and stay away from what everyone does when I can. Another issue I noticed, was those that added the carbon overlay, the over lay was very thick and they all seemed to fall off months after they were applied. Well I found this Honeycomb overlay which I have yet to see anyone use. So I took a chance. Not only is the Honeycomb effect fantastic its very thin. I have a good feeling about this material and that is should stay in place for a long time

Before

At first I was worried that the kit I bought would not have the proper pieces for an aftermarket radio, which is what I have. This good news is the kit comes with the pieces to do the stock radio or and aftermarket radio like I have.

After

I also bought a emblem for a 66 Mustang Glove Box, cut off the posts and mounted it to the dash.I really think this sets off the dash

So today was the day to dive into the dash and console to try and find the wire harness for the MyColor cluster. Long story short, There was no harness for me behind the dash and or console.
