2006 GT with heavy clutch
I have a 2006 GT, and was just talking with my friend who has driven it, and he says that my clutch is 'heavier' than others. I have to say, it's a chore to drive this car in traffic with the clutch being so heavy. Does anyone know if there's a way to make it more responsive with less muscle?
Thanks,

Not sure Danny, I'd say suck it up and muscle it.
I have a Centerforce DF and I don't think it's too bad as far as clutch pedal pressure, but others say its way harder than stock.

i have an '05, and mine is heavier than any other persons Mustang I've driven, as you described. its been like that ever since I bought the car and thought thats how it was. till I drove others people cars, I took it th dealer twice, they said they don't know why its heavier.

I had an '86 GT that would give me leg cramps in traffic, but that was in the days before hydraulic clutch slave cylinders and the like. I would check/trace the hydraulic system supporting your clutch and look for obvious problems first.

I think you'll find a lot of complaints about the clutch on the S197 but by far the worst part about it is the lack of feel and the inconsistency of it. After 3 1/2 years I still can't be sure of when it will exactly engage

My 07 V6 w/ Pony Package has a heavy clutch. I really don't mind it cos I'm used to race cars with heavy clutches. The really light Mustang clutches remind me too much of an import car feel. I tested an 08 GT500 clutch and I was underwhelmed by the sissy feeling clutch pedal.
There may be a difference in the clutch pedal return springs from the older S197 cars to the newer ones.

The Termi clutches are decently heavy stock. If you haven't already, try out a 2010 clutch if you get a chance. Those make our clutches feel like Stage 2 + in comparison.
