Thumbs up

Well the time has come for me to make an order. I will be placing it through the Fleet Dept of a local dealership. It will need to be a 2006 MY order because they are no longer taking orders on 2005s. Has anyone else ordered through fleet? What kind of price should I expect? Is there anything specific about ordering through the Fleet dept. that I should know before making the order?

Are you ordering the car as a fleet customer with a Ford fleet number or just to avoid the hassles of dealing with a retail salesperson? Each dealership is different so you just have to see what they have to offer. I manage our fleet and commercial department and have sold GT's at invoice [for a good customer and personal friend], to $700-$1200 over invoice.
Whatever you do , make sure you get a copt of the order acknowledgement [DORA] and that it has your name on it. It usually comes in the day afte rthe vehicle is ordered. The '06 order bank is not open yet as they are going to be building the '05's into the 1st week of August.
Hope this helps.

I ordered through fleet at my dealership. I can't say it's any different then ordering through regular sales. Fleet just cuts through the crap a lot better. On X-Plan I got $50 under invoice for a loaded V6.

Stu, what dealership did you plan on ordering through? I have had good luck through Sanderson Fleet. They are $500 under MSRP, which is better than what Bell Ford and other Phoenix dealers are doing. G.R. Stillwell is a good guy to talk to there.

Thanks for the replies. Daryl, I'll be ordering through Berge Ford out in Mesa. My stepmother does some of their legal work and they gave me a great deal on my truck 2 and a half years ago. I guess I'm just a little nervous because I'm young (23) and this will be the first vehicle that I purchase without the financial help of my family.

Since they're no longer taking orders on the 2005, if I order a 2006 when do you guys think I could expect it? October?

Thanks again.

Oh, it feels very good! Realizing that I'm free from their evil grasp is one of the best feelings in the world.
