Ok..I think I was wrong. The 2005 Jaguar S-Type comes in ebony, and it states that it is NOT metallic. So, if we are to believe that the ebony used on Jags and Fords is the same, that answers that question.

I too hope it is ebony metallic, but they didn't state that it was. I have a blue pearl black metallic paint on my Honda, and I get compliments on it all the time. It really shows the blue in certain lights.

I was talking to my painter about black paint one day (my Ranger was black), and he told me Ford was about the only company left that used straight black. Chevy and Dodge mixes a little brown or red to give it a different hue. So maybe that's what Ford has done to come up with Ebony. But it could very well just be a name change.

Ford may be just changing the name.

My guess is 06 Ebony is exactly the same as 05 Black....... and that Lime Gold is the same as the 66 Ivy Gold which is the same as Legend Lime. I'd like to see them come out with Ember Glow again.
