2005 Mustang Revivial Thread! A Lost Pony Comes Back To Life!
I didn't get anything done on mine over the weekend. What I did however do, was teach my wife how to replace her own alternator. Considering that the first time I took her to a junk yard she wore good jeans and sandals and said, "it's like a big yard.... full of junk," I'm actually really proud of her. The other week she fixed her own brake lights, this time replaced her alternator. Next thing you know she'll be swapping her own motor.
Taking the old alternator out

Putting the new alternator in.

I mostly just stood there and gave her directions, handed her the tools she needed, and I did help get the serpentine belt back on.

I can't believe someone treats their car like that, don't want to imagine what her house was like... Scarrrryyy....

I bought a tax home and the guy was a legit hoarder. Paths to water bed, tub, massage chair and stove. Guy was straight up nastyyyy.. Had the whole, wig, blow up pump thing going on...
He never posted a pic of the girl, so anyone could be talking with her and not even know it haha

So my wife never used my door sill plates. So I took them back, and cleaned them up. I ordered some decals for it, and with the help of windex and an exacto knife, did this:

I think it looks pretty cool even if it may be a little ricer. Will match the red leather well.
Cleaned out the door sill guard

And boom!

Then it was good bye to the old tiny 16" terribly ugly worst wheels Ford has ever made. And hello to the nicer newer 18" wheels. Great deal. The tires are Pirelli P Zero Nero all season. They go for about $500+ brand new. The wheels are AMR Silvers usually about $600. I picked them up from my buddy for $400. They may not be the best tires out there, but for my needs they feel so much smoother and nicer than previous.

Tires are almost brand new

Guys I'm not gonna lie here, I looked at the car today, and I'm finally kind of proud of how far it has come. From the inside, to the exterior. It still has more to go. I still need to repair a few things like the door panels, and the body, but it's really looking much better.

Love the door sills, and the wheels look nice.
Yes, you have done an amazing job sir, hats off and applause.
When you swing the springs/shocks, it will make the wheels pop even more when the car is sitting down on them.

Looking great so far. I am thoroughly impressed with the progress from those Page 1 pictures!
Didn't get as much as I wanted done yesterday. I wanted to take back to black to all my trim pieces, but unfortunately ran out of time.
I had originally wanted to purchase these caliper covers but I think we all know I'm way to cheap to spend $200 on a product that will do absolutely nothing for me and barely be seen.
However at work all our sport model fiats come with red calipers and it looks pretty cool so I decided to do the same to mine. Figured if it looks too dumb I can always just sand it down later and paint them black. Overall though, I like it.
Disclaimer: I'm the worlds worst painter. I mean I'm absolutely terrible.

So much red clay on it. Stupid Georgia clay. Had to sand it down a decent bit.

Used a can of compressed air to blow out most of the dirt after I was done scrubbing at it.

Decided to do it this way instead of spray painting it. Didn't want paint on the pads, or just all over. I'm terrible at painting so I just decided to do the more tedious way and hope it came out better.

After my first coat, it came out a little rough. Like I said, I'm just awful.

My wife on the other hand, figured she could do a better job than me. And she wasn't wrong. So I let her to the 2nd coat.

The back one came out a little rough, mostly due to my first coat, but she made it look much better with her 2nd coat so I had her do all the other ones for me. I prepped the caliper, and she painted.

And with the wheels back on, I don't think it looked too bad.

$1300 Mustang is looking GREAT!
Just yesterday sold one of those Dupli Color caliper painting kits ..... glad to see it works so well. I know their wheel paints are top notch
Yep ..... In the 31 years of working wrecks in my last career ....
.... I rarely ever saw a factory wheel break in wrecks ....
.... but I have seen a few snap an axle off.
When a wheel was busted, usually was aftermarket.
