Is the speed sensitive volume a function of the Shaker 500, as well as the Shaker 1000? The reason I ask is because the Mach 460 in my current Mustang doesn't have that feature, but the recent Mach 1000 has had it. Does anyone know firsthand, or has anyone read the owners manual closely enought to know the answer?

All of the new stereos ford is using has a speed setting, you can set what RATE the volume increases at speed as well(i.e. how many 'notches' it can go up') so you can set it much higher for summer driving with windows down or lower for winter time. It takes two seconds to change the setting.

i think it's a new feature on the 05. not seen in previous models.
