My wife prefers the vert, but I'm having a hard time with the look of it. The styling on the top hasn't really changed. It would be nice if they would have incorporated 05 lines into the top. For example, adding the side window right into the top.

Hopefully the production look will be different than these mules we have seen

do you think ford would ever consider the hard top convertible? it may help to streamline the car a bit instead of using the standard framed/cloth top. i dunno, guess we'd have to see what it looks like.

I don't see any on the market under $56,000.

you're right. it would defeat the purpose of making an affordable sports car. great thing about a stang, it's a car for every man. not and exclusive deal like a vette. imo.

While I understand a hardtop convertible would be expensive, what about a removeable hardtop for those of us who'd be willing to pay for the additional option. I could see it being a $2000-$3000 option, but would be great to have.

The 1995 Cobras had two tops, I don't see why ford wouldn't be able to pull this off again with the new body style..

Also a fine gentleman lurking around the 645 at the Atlanta auto show pointed out something else about hardtop verts. He said that the last however many hartop verts we've seen in as many years have all been two seaters. He said it as though it were'nt possible with a 2+2 or 4 seater. But we know better because Ford invented the hardtop vert from what I hear and that was on some land yacht four seater.
