2005 Mustang colors
Hi guys!
I've seen head counts for Sonic Blue, Legend Lime, etc., but I did a search and nobody did a statistic to see a comparative count for all '05 colors.
So.... here it is: vote for your color and we'll get an idea what are the most and the least popular. All 2005 V6s and GTs, as well as coupés and verts are welcome!
P.S.: this could be another step towards the "birth" of the TMS Registry

The more complete the information will be, the more useful I think it will be in several aspects, like future colors from Ford (introducing new ones, stopping others which aren't popular), assesing the car's value in years from now (i.e. Mineral Grey will no longer be offered, making the '05 MG rare), etc.
So, keep voting!
the registry already exists, not sure when it was last updated though. AFBlue did all the hard work for it!

My idea was simply to have a statistical look among TMS members and fans regarding the colour of their '05s.
I guess Mark's Excel sheet could be the backbone of the future TMS registry, one where everybody will be able to fill in the info on their cars. An upgraded version of it might even include all performance and styling mods.

I don't think we need another one of these threads. Sorry Louie, it has already been done.

I guess you're right, this can only be regarded as useful info with respect to the colors and considering the fact that AFBlue's statistic hasn't been updated recently.
Man, I wish somebody had the time to continue his work!

Actually that is not the TMS registry. Brad has been trying to establish a no kidding TMS registry but is having difficulty getting a programmer.
If you all wanted to build on my excel spreadsheet, may I suggest the following.
Find 6 individuals willing to search through a months' worth of posts (in the 2005 thread and also in the exterior mods posts)
Assign each individual a month. For example;
#1 looks through all the February posts on here for info/pics of new 05 owners
#2 does the same for March
#3 Apr
#4 May
#5 Jun
#6 Jul
Each individual would build a database only on posts in their month. When each indivdual is finished, then they would be combined together and with my old spreadsheet. Obviously their will be overlaps between these databases and conflicts in info collected so someone would have to resolve the conflicts/redundancies.
The reason it is such a pain in the butt is sometimes you find a post from someone who says "here's my new car". Unfortunately the picture they post doesn't show what kind of wheels or whether it has a spoiler. I spent untold hours trying to figure this crap out. I don't want to do that again.
You got 2 options to solve the mystery. Send them a PM (I did this a few time), or search their post history in hopes that they will say what they got or have other pictures in other threads. This project takes some detective work. I found some info on other web sites. Then there is the issue of people modding their cars. The first picture they post shows their car with after market wheels, or in some cases, owners swap out their bullitts for the optional 17" wheels. One guy on here has already repainted his car a different color.
One thing you can't do is take what people post they order as gospel for what they actually take delivery of. Too many times people changed their orders or cancelled them for a car they found on the lot. So don't post what people order, only what they actuallly got.
Even with 6 individuals, this will be a Herculean task. Believe me, I know.
I would estimate it took me 2 weeks (40-60 hours of online time) to compile the data from Oct 04 to 1 Feb 05. To makes matters worse, this site has grown alot since my last spreadsheet (there are a lot more posts per day now). It will take even longer to go through all those posts. I would estimate that 6 months of posts would take at a minimum of 120 hours of work, or 20 hours per person if you had 6 volunteers.
I hope this gives an appreciation of why I don't want to update that puppy again.
I do have a new spreadsheet dealing with 05s and the type of stripes that have (complete with hyperlinks to pictures of said car), located here. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=27816
If it were me, I would just wait for Brad to get the official TMS registry up and running.
A comparative statistic based on the data collected so far (Jun. 29), after 117 records have been counted, can be found in the attached Excel sheet.
I will update it again later, in the mean time I will try to combine the info from Mark's sheet with what I have so far.
