If you want to see the 05 lay down rubber, it lays down over 90' marks in the trilogy video in 2nd gear when it goes up the hill after braking off from the GT

All show means less go. While doing a big smokey burnout is an indication that your engine is powerful, and may pump up your ego, it is also an indication that your tires are not doing their job. Sure, a great sound at take off is cool, but even a Civic can bark the tires if shifted the right way. I would much rather have no burnout and better acceleration than smoking tires sitting still. What a waste of rubber...
My Ranger will do a burnout all day long. But it only has 160 hp stock (closer to 190 with my mods). It's not really as much a display of power as it is just fun to do.
Here's a link for the trilogy video, forgot I had it bookmarked

I guarantee I'll lay some nice 235-sized marks leaving the dealership the day I pick mine up.

True, the road in front of my house looks like a drag strip, and all the neighbors hate me, but at least I am having fun! Right now I have a 2000 Ranger, 4.0 5spd, 3.55 limited slip, and that thing is so fun to play in. That is why I cant wait for the 05 mustang. To me, displaying a nice set of posi on the road for a good 200 feet, going from one side of the road to the other, back and forth all that distance, ending in a donut.....now that is impressive!! Everyone drives down the road and wonders, WOW, who did that?!?! What a maniac! And I have to agree, but the fun of it is all that matters....
I cant wait to just have fun in my 2005 mustang.
Madhouse has it right... A good burnout as your leaving the dealership is in order, at least untill my wife smacks me. That's what the power is for, fun and showing off. I do think the first people who should see this are the dealerships!!
I actually got a bark going into fourth once in my 88 Gt...3:73 gears and all the normal bolt ons....I was pretty surprised as I am running 245 rubber in back but my girlfriend was in the car as a witness....I can always bark third hard but this was the first time I ever got fourth...I was going around 70 mph...it was a blast!
Can't wait to see what some of the new Gt's with gears are going to be able to do.... :worship:

the way i look at it is simple. its not actually wasting rubber because it helps seal the pavement keeping it free of cracks which eventually lead to potholes. i am doing everyone a favor by keeping the roads safe...haha, j/k.
man i am drunk right now
