Next Special Edition: Shelby GT begins production this winter.

If I can't get a Shebly GT, I will be interested to see the 2 silvers
Ok, I'll have to add "Bullitt" and "green" as answers to my original question (can't imagine Ford not bringing back a green for the new bullitt)

In yesterday's "The New Way Forward" presentation, Mark Fields stated the Bullitt will return in 2008.

Ya know I read this and then I think boy maybe, should of, could of........ I just started posting here 'cause I had a Azure Blue '03 Mach 1 and hung out over at the Mach 1 Registry, the car was smashed up while I was overseas (boy ya got to love brothers). Now the insurance company said it had 12K in damage and they started to fix it (Brandon Ford in Brandon, FL), then I thought why not get a new Mustang wanted a GT 500 but the crazy prices...... then the Shelby GT naw over priced...... so I got a '06 GT.
Got new wheels, Shelby American, ordered the GT/CS front and rear bumper covers along with a GT 500 rear spoiler. Will be getting CAI, headers, axle back exhaust, tune, under drive pullies.... and I'll have my own special edition......doing what folks have done for 40 years modding it out and having fun.......down the road I'll get another insert car MACH 1, BOSS 302, GT 500, GT 350 what ever....... Moral of the story just get one now and have fun, because tomorrow we die well maybe not tomorrow but you get the idea.

I here ya. Unforntuately my financial situation does not allow for purchasing a new stang until next summer/fall. I'm moving to Hampton Roads area and housing there cost over twice as much as it does here in SATX (more like 2.5 times).

I've gotta close on a house next month and that (along with my much larger monthly house payments) will take a big chunk out of the future mustang fund.

I really like the Shelby GT and I'm sure I will like the new Bullitt, but like you, I may end up creating my own "special edition", using my X-plan pin and 2007 summer rebates/discounts.

You are right about the Steve McQueen Estate opposing the use of the "BULLITT" name on a Mustang, but not the color. The estate did not have any rights to Ford's Highland Green color (which were available to other Mustangs besides the two used in the movie) or its subsequent replacement, Dark Highland Green. Also, the said opposition took place in the year 1999 during preliminary negotiations. Monetary compensation and limited imput on the car's cues persuaded the estate to accept the terms a few months down the line.

Word was out a few months back regarding Ford's plans for the '08 BULLITT and a few members here knew about it. Apparently you were not among them. There were some hints and implications which few took notice of, and no one bothered to try to convince those who "knew" there would be no BULLITT.

For those of you who had the "facts", I would not make Las Vegas the primary choice for a vacation.
