Ditto. Thanks Tony, you saved me a lot of typing.
-FROG-, We just don't see the world in the same way and that's ok.
It's not a question of money. I don't want a Viper, I want a Mustang because I am a mustang enthusiast. Now a Challenger might be a different story
.
I've been driving the same mustang for +10 years. The fact that there are "billions" of SN-95s on the street and that my car isn't the "in thing", doesnt' bother me in the least. I still like my car because it's unique, it looks cool to me, and I enjoy driving it and how that makes me feel.
I don't care what my neigbors think. This is not some fad for me to get the "in thing". I'm 40 years old and have moved beyond that way of thinking when it comes to cars (I admit that in my twenties I did think that way)
What can I say? I get excited about what future colors and SEs are coming out. For me it's a mustang thing.

Now if the DHG appeared on a Bullitt edition then I may have to rethink the above.
Don't feel bad, I am waiting for an SE as well. But, my patience is starting to run thin.
I hope we at least get to hear some credible info at the next Detroit Auto Show. I know they going to make an SE, but when is the million dollar ques

I for one am ready for a special edition now – with the GT making 300HP and the GT500 making 500HP – there is a lot of in between room out there for Ford to produce a S.E. for the working class guy. One that gives us 325HP – 400 HP and priced so the average John-Q six pack can still afford it despite inevitable dealer markups.
I think the happy medium between a Bullitt and Boss is a new Mach 1. And as far as research and development goes – Ford has already done it with the 2003/2004 Mach 1. Just give us the same 281 4V engine from the previous 2003/2004 Mach 1 and with minor tweaks get it making between 350-375 HP. Or just give us the 4V heads on the contemporary engine – who cares if it does not have variable valve timing?
My vision of a 2008 Mach 1 made easy:
1) Base Mach 1 options:
- 281 4V normally aspirated 325-350 HP.
- Shaker Hood.
- Magnum heritage wheels.
- Black front &rear spoilers/Mach 1 decals not unlike 2003/2004.
- Unique intake/Larger throttle body.
- Mach 1 seats, shifter, and pedals.
- 3 ½ exhaust.
- Brembo breaks.
2) Mach 1 “Twister Special†adds:
- 281 4V supercharged 375-400 HP.
- “Twister Jet†shaker hood.
- Hood blacked out like 1969 Boss 302.
- Twister Special decals on front fenders (not on rear quarters due to location of gas door).
- Only with these colors:
+Grabber Blue
+Grabber Orange
+Grabber Green
+Competition Yellow
- “Twister Special†interior adds:
+Rally clock on passenger side.
+McIntosh Stereo option.
+Color coded seats with 70’s style “Twister Special†graphic on head rest.
+Hurst T-handle shifter.

I don't believe the anticipation is ever better than the experience itself. I also believe we won't see the likes of a cosmetic based GT-CS. And I further believe there will be subtance on what matters.

It's quite possible, however, that they may wait for the 2010 body style - and the hips.
I'm still hoping for Emberglo to return one of these years. DHG would be nice, too, but I agree with some others that it will reappear as an SE-only color, and I don't have the budget for that. I'm leaning towards Windveil when I order my '07 (or possibly '08 depending on what changes are announced). IMO, Windveil shows off the lines better than any of the other current colors. I loved my Redfire '05, but am ready for something different.
I'm sure they have specs regardless of the car... and you can call it Bullitt, mach1, boss, FluffyBunnyExpress... it won't matter...
All 3 of those names have been on and off again for years....

Next Special Edition: Shelby GT begins production this winter.
If I can't get a Shebly GT, I will be interested to see the 2 silvers
Word I saw was that Steve McQueen's estate owns the rights to DHG and the Bullitt name, and they have said they will never again allow Ford to use either one. Don't hold your breath on either of them.
And you know, no matter how long you wait, there will always be something further down the pike that you will think might be better still. And you have no idea what tomorrow will bring, or if you'll have a tomorrow. Get the car you want, get it now, enjoy it now, and love it, no matter what else comes out.
It'll always be unique, because it's yours, and it's no one else's. Do whatever you want to it, but don't wait and hold your breath. Hell, Ford's making a lot of big changes right now because they are in serious financial difficulty. Big business execs have a poor track record of knowing what the public really wants. I know it's far fetched, but who's to say Ford doesn't do something REALLY dumb and cut the Mustang all together.
Don't misunderstand me, I can't see that happening either, but I just want to make the point, if you wait, you never know what'll happen. Get what you want.
