As for the shifter, I can remember a post a while back...where someone mentioned that the aluminum piece was topped with a plastic cover/mould...so your not directly against the numbers/metal.

I heard for a guy that is pretty hefty into classic car restoration that armor all is bad for a car's interior. I was told over time it deteriorates the vinyl or leather (not sure which one). Not sure if it's true though. Seems funny that it has been around this long can't see why it would be but... who knows??
