Maybe I got a lemon?!?! I am getting about 11 MPG now. I am not racing, no goosing, I have just been driving to work and back normally since my last post. I didn't put any additives in my car.
Do you think I should disconnect my battery and let the computer reset for the altitude? I did disconnect the battery for a minute, but how long to I need to do this to reset the computer?

No, I am getting about 11 as well. Let it break in Colorado.

That stinks. You must be stopping at gas stations more often than some people change their underwear. :notnice:

I am not driving agressively at all either. The first half tank I got 14
then it evened out to 11.
It will get better once I break it in and stuff. it has also been in the city with low speeds and everything.

That sounds about the same for me too. I got 11 mpg on my second tank!!! And I didn't gun it ONCE.
I am on my 3rd tank and I have 14.5 so far, but I have it on the mpg info screen. Anyone else use this yet?? It looks like bars on your cell phone, the more bars you have, the better gas mileage you are getting.

Ya. I use it all the time. I am getting around 10.5 right now not driving aggresively. I hope it climbs, but I am not in a fit about it.
I always have the onboard computer to average MPG when I am driving or the bars like you have it set on...
*raises glass to better gas mileage
Thanks for the update by the way. I will keep everybody updated here as well on my tank (no need to start a new thread).

Have you guys validated your actual MPG at the pump vs looking at the computer display?? I've always found the realtime fuel mileage computations a little suspect myself. My Jeep has the whole info center thing with several different MPG computations and...well they don't seem perfectly reliable compared to actual mileage computed manually. Might want to check it out...computers are NOT always correct....could be a glitch in the program...requiring a bug/fix/patch and/or XP Service Pack 2...

It said the computer would be more accurate since there are several variables you can't calculate when you just divide such as how full it is, top off, and some other factors.
I bet the computer is accurate to tell you the truth. I hope it gets better though, but I didn't buy this car for its mileage.

I hope it gets better...the mileage ratings on the V8 were around those for the inline 6 in my Grand Cherokee...was helping me rationalize my new daily driver...but MPG likely wouldn't stop me either...got to have that V8 exhaust note!!

Jesus, fellas! 10.5? 11 mpg? You all know how I've been driving (see the 130mph post) and I saw 14.5 on the first tank and am averaging about 16 on the current one (still giving her plenty of excercise, btw). Your numbers seem a little low...

Initially, it was showing 14-14.5, but has gotten better. Tonite with some X-way miles, was showing 20 and change. 350 miles on the car. I also reset the counter a couple times.....I believe the average will be more accurate if you "Leave" the counter on for a full run/tank. I]m not paying much attention to it, and will check mileage around 1000 or so manually.

Nah, it's only gonna get worse. It'd be a huge burden, but I'll take her off your hands for the right price.

Another update on the gas mileage. I am staying pretty steady at 13.5 MPG. That is on 4 tanks of gas...manually calculating it, not the computer.
Dealer says drive another 300 miles, if it stays at that...bring it in to be serviced.

I suggest you guys bring your ponies out for some exercise. Don't gun it, but run them on highways at a steady fast pace a little more often.
My old Volvo got about 12 MPG in city traffic too.
