My question is ...if in winter season my car will be cover by ice and snow, even if I'll remove it (windows) ...do you think that it will break the mechanism

Hmm.. considering the amount of cold-weather testing they did with this car. no

I'd say no. This is not the first car to feature this sort of mechanism.

Good question though.. I wonder what would happen if the window is total iced over. It won't matter that much for me because I wont have mine out in the winter but I would say just in case you had better make sure the window stays clear of ice. I imagine it would give (just stay up) with a certain amount of pressure . I can't tell how many times I tried to roll down my window with Ice on it and it wouldn't move and I have never had a problem with my window motor not working.

As Certified Ford Mechanic, I'm gonna say your mustangs will be ok in the winter. The window drop is so slight that I honestly don't think it will be a problem, and that comes from someone who likes in Kansas. We have some of the most horrilbe winter weather imaginable.

I believe this is addressed in the owner manual. I can't remember where I read about it, but it had something to do with the calibration of the window etc. Anyway, I don't think it will be a problem. But look in the manual

Yeah, last year mine was frozen. I opened the door and heard a crack as the ice broke. Not damage to window. has worked ever since.

I recommend that you go buy a large car cover and use it. Our local Costco sells them for $38. It will pay for itself quickly in saved time NOT scrapping ice, and in a longer lasting finish.

I have a vert and I found that if you disconnect the battery and then open the door, it catches . . . and then I couldn't get it shut completly because the window caught on the vert roof (no power of course, so it couldn't drop).

I wonder if convertible window clearance is less than hardtop?

I'm keeping an ice scraper in the trunk to clear the ice off before I open the door. Hopefully this will help any window up/down problems.

I got a lot of those last winter and this fall too. It drops when we open the door, so nothing really forecefull really happens. The worst thing is that the window seal may not be perfect after closing the door, but that's about the extent of problems I've had with this so far ...
