I guess mine is a mis build too

The order guide I posted above tells you:

Front Seat Side-Mounted Air Bag (incl. Dark Charcoal Aberdeen pattern frond door panel inserts when NOT ordered with Interior Upgrade Package)

The 08 and 09 order guide never mention it, and are misleading, because it just became standard.

Whats your issue with me? I post up information that Tom asked for. I didn't guess, or make assumtions? I posted FACTS from the Ford order guide! Thats what we use at work. Unless you want me to call the factory up and ask them?

Is that leather in the door panel? I can't tell from the photo?

hey now, I resemble that remark...
1) the 06 i ordered that got smashed at delivery after a 3 month wait(its in Virginia- sold as a dealer car WITHOUT disclosure of the damage according to carfax)
2) the 06 ordered to replace ^ that one
3) the 09 we just got

just kidding Jeff

on the panels, its nothing to argue about- but appreciate any info...I was just curious if they changed it, or if it was a odd build for whatever reason... the ford info says no on the 09's, but who knows...'subject to change' I'm sure do like the look better than the hard inserts on my 06, but never even noticed till driving the wifes 07...was always too busy listening to the motor or something

No issue with you at all. I posted something and you quoted it saying it wasn't true so I posted the guide that explained it and you attacked that too. All i did was answer the question in the first post which explains why he has the inserts on his 09 and not on his 06.

The 08-09 order guides are misleading so I can understand why you didn't know that even the base models now come w the IUP door panels and they didn't use to.

No worries bud. Ford obviously changed the feature without telling anyone! Didn't even bother to update the guide.

No problem dude ! I tell ya, in my area, for Mustangs, everyone wants them pretty much loaded. I haven't sold a GT Deluxe since 2005, when I ordered one for someone.
