06 Rear Bumper cover question Need Help
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I have always wanted a mustang. I bought a used Mustang 2 weeks ago and the rear bumper on both sides sticks out a little (where it meats the quarters)there is a slot were it is sticking out and pushes back in but then pops right back out. It wont stay. I have been searching to see what I would need to fix it before I took it apart but can not find anything on it. I would like to know what else holds the rear bumper cover to the quarters besides just the two bolts. This car was hit in the left rear drivers side corner and they just slapped it back to gather just to sell I think. Love the car but I can not stand the bumper not fitting right.
Thanks for any help that can be given. I am mechanical but have never done any body work. Probably a little older than most on this site but still feel young, turn 50 on the 13th of October ( that hurts to say )

the day I picked mine up, the passenger side on mine was popped out- it looked to me there was 2 sided tape above the tab/lock...I pushed it in at the dealer when looking over, and it stayed ok till about a year later, popped it back in, and last week it popped out, wont stay more than a day... I have a new takeoff spare rear still, if I get a chance tomorrow I'll get a pic of the tabs on it- eventually I gotta get mine to stay put too...

Welcome to TMS. They should normally snap back in place, but you may have to unscrew the two 7 or 8mm screws on the bottom of the wheel well, pull them out and realign them. Otherwise, like someone else mentioned, place double sided tape on the inside and then snap them back in.
