Car looks better as a coupe when the roof is up. I wouldn't buy this vert unless you plan on running with the top down 95% of the time.

A question for anyone that knows. If you get the charcoal interior with red accent will you get a black top or charcoal colored top?

Oh Ma Gawd! I'm really torn! I have a '99 vert and figured I would buy a 2005 Vert when they come out. But after seeing these pics it really makes me want to buy the coupe even more. The roofline on the coupe looks so more sportier than the vert. My dilema is that once you own a vert it's very hard to go back to a coupe especially if you live in a warm weather city like I do(ATL). There is no better feeling than putting the top down when you get off of work even if you have to sit in traffic. So I guess I'll keep my '99 and get a year end '05 coupe and maybe have the best of both worlds.

The top color choices are black or tan. I ordered a Windveil with a black top.

I will please take satin silver with black top....with the light interior so as not to fry in the bammy summers. Black stripes and manual transmission with spoiler delete.
Even though this pushes my plans back, so what, I am fine now, I will be fine till she comes home.

I haven't been able to have the top down much for a couple of weeks because it's been raining. But today...crisp and cool, the smell of fall in the air, trees turning red, and Elton John singing "Crocodile Rock" on the radio...I wouldn't have wanted anything but a convertible. Days like today are why it's worth it. [/b][/quote]
You live in CA! Here in Pa it's getting cold and snowy in a week or so.

Is it me, or does the Vert look kinda brick like? I guess what I miss is the lack of a beltline "hip" ala the '64-'70 Stangs that gave some form a and interest to the beltline and thus, a distinctive profile. The '05 Vert, lack the coupe's cabin shape, just seems a bit blocky to me and a bit thick in the middle. Not bad, mind you, but less than, say, a good '66 in profile.

"A Brick From The Past" is a term I have been using for three years, and yes the shoe fits.
That red is something I have issues with, the other red blends the tail lights in even worse.
The nose is stubby/short on the front, and longish on the huge butt - all these traits seem to be exagerated on the convertible, making it even boxier.
Despite all said, the Mustang is looking good as sleet hits the car cover of my fuel pump/fuel relay stranded old Porsche 911.
After having a Taga Porsche, don't think I'll be driving a Mustang unless I win one. B)

TOPLESS - the only way to go!! But, I'd love to see a white top on the Torch Red! I know white's not available, but it looks so good on the classic cars (like mine!). See CarlsV6's picture above! C'mon Ford - White Top!!!!
