Thumbs up

ok guys, im not sure if this should be in the V6 tech forum or the basic forum but here it goes!
I love mustangs, im on my 3rd mustang
1. 66FB
2. 90GT
3. 88GT
4. some kinda mustang lol

and i want the new 05 V6 mustang as well..everything pure basic, no options at all....im just hesitant as to all these bugs that are popping up just like the GT...

- 1500RPM vibration
- exhaust vibration
- ac and blower motor being loud and rattling
- potential transmission slippage in 3rd?

I really want to buy one and order it....but then i ask myself...what about those problems? those are pretty big problems...but then i think...wait, ive got a warranty and ill be buying an extended warranty too so that will take care of the replacement crap and ill be darn sure to get a rental car from the dealer come heck or high water...like i said i realllllly wanna get the new 05 mustang, and need a new car...but these problems bug me, what do u guys think? should i just do it and get it and let the warranty take care of it or what? also. when the heck are they planning to release info on the 06 mustangs? If i knew what they were going to put on the 06 cars, it would make it easier if i could go w\the 05 or 6 lol

I think if you keep waiting for a car that is bug free you will never buy a car.

I love my V6...Have had zero problems with it. The brakes squeek but thats common among new cars. As for the vibration @ 1500-1600RPM its exhaust and every Mustang I have ever had had this at a certain RPM level. Even my '70 BOSS 302 had it. There will always be someone complaining about something and there will be problems with cars...heck their machines...machines make noises...some sound better than others!! All I can tell ya is Im very happy with mine

Wish I could help you make the decision that is best for you, but that would be really hard by trading posts on the forum. Here is what I can offer. Not everyone here has experienced problems with their new 05's .. many are driving with no problems, or with minor ones. For myself, buying this car was the best thing I have done in a long time - it is extremely enjoyable to drive and own. Like you mentioned, I plan on managing any problems via the manufacturers warranty. Wish it was longer and covered more miles, but I'll take it as it comes - driving it IS that good. I wish you the best in your decision.

IMO go ahead. If you look at one of the websites that lists recalls and TSB's - you will find numerous issues with all models. Being a first year model, I guess you do increase the possibility of them.
