Back in August I went to my local ford dealer (North Point Ford) in Alpharetta Ga to place my order for my 05 black GT. At that time they said they did't have pricing yet and would call me with it when they get it. I know pricing has been out for at least two weeks now. Last friday I went back in an asked about my order. They said they hadn't go their allocation or pricing yet but they would call me when they get it. I am getting a little axoius about getting it. Does anyone else have this type of thing happening? I could really use some peace of mind.
Thanks

Jim Padilla, Ford C.O.O. told us yesterday the 25,000 Mustangs have been ordered.

Obviously your dealer seems to be "out of the loop'.

I would suggest another Ford dealer!

Do you by any chance know the website where you can track the production of the mustangs with a VIN number?

Dude!! Why pay 7% Fulton sales tax in Alpharetta when you can drive 30 minutes west to the Ford dealership in Marietta and pay Cobb's 5% sales tax???

Wise up, man!

In the lovely south we all have different tax rates depending on what county or town we shop in.

They no longer have a tracking service the Public can use. You will have to get status from the dealer.

Its up North too (in PA).

In Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) we pay an extra 1% higher than the rest of PA. I think Philly might be the same (not sure about them).

I'm in Bucks County, and tax is 6% where as in Philly, they have an additional 1% tax. If you have a Philly ZIP, you have to pay the additional 1%.

I apologize, being nasty, that wasn't my intent.
I was just stating, I spent the better part of my morning calling salesmen and all I got was a bunch of I dunno when they will be heres. I want to know when, where and how, middle of October, before December, Thanksgiving and I have no idea are not what I want to hear.

What I should have specified- is who orders the cars for the lot. They would know because they ordered them right?

So it is based on where you live...not where you buy...correct? Or is it still possible to buy from another county and save a little on the tax?

Some of the cars come in on floor plans for the dealership. Don't know how to really explain that, maybe one of the sales guys around here can. Others that are ordered are usually done by sales managers and/or the manager of the dealership and/or by the owner.

The truth is that the salesman don't know, because the managers don't know, because Ford doesn't tell us. Ford is very bad in providing info to dealers. I too learn a lot of info from this site that I never hear from Ford. Yes, some dealers are really clueless, but most of the time Ford does not communicate vital info.

In NY state anyway, you pay your taxes based on the county you live in, regardless of where you actually buy.

is 8.5 sales tax too much for a car? I have never once thought about it-just pointed and took home without much thought(it's how I got stuck with the alero).
Thats the sales tax in patchogue NY. My buddy in NY is fleecing a new truck this spring, around the same time I am getting my car- so I thought that might be reasonable.

You know, I am ashamed to admit I don't have a clue to Alabama's tax.
