Wow, I've never seen so much sarcasm in one thread.

So, let me just say that the '05 Mustang and Mazda RX-8 do indeed look identical. Why can't you people see it? Here's what you do: Go to the liquor cabinet and down a few bottles o'hooch...

...then, head for the medicine cabinet and swallow a couple of quaaludes.

Wash them down with a little more and you'll see the similarities...IF you squint real hard.

Seriously, the poor guy will probably never post here again.

Speaking of the RX-8, it's actually a great car. There's nothing - and I mean nothing - south of six figures that can touch it for handling prowess, and precious few above too. It won't win any stoplight drags against the new Mustang, but can easily stayed glued to the tail of almost any car in the twisties. Handling, shifting and smoothness are incredible. It's also very nicely appointed and kind of distinctively cool looking, IMHO. Only downside is horrible gas mileage (13-20 combined mpg reported on average), and a tendency to flood if you do a lot of stop/start driving over short distances and don't follow Mazda's warm-up, warm-down procedure under such conditions.

I am still waiting to see how the rotary engine does after 2 years. The reason it was dropped in the first place was because of v. poor reliability. Wait and see. Residuals will die if there are any problems.

Okay, enough.....You guys have used up all the sarcasm in the world 5 times over.

Conclusion: The Mustang and RX-8 door handles look alike.
