The door handles are so similar because the Mustang is using the handles from the Mazda 6.

Right?

Yeah, they do have very similar lines. I had to make sure the first picture of the Mazda 6 wasn't a GT!

They're like mirror images.

I had to count the doors on the Mazda before I actually believed that it WAS a Mazda. I can't believe they made that 4door look so much like the GT and it's iconic predecessor, the Edsel.

You can certainly see the common DNA in all three cars.

For those of you who might be confused, this is not the new Mazda 9 but is in fact a 1958 Edsal Corsair. I know they're hard to tell apart but you'll just have to trust me on this one!

I surely don't think these designs look anything like eachother, but I might agree if you say they have a similar design direction that has been going on for years with the New Beetle and the Audi TT,, maybe cause, everyting has a parted or object crossing affect that has been a trend in some cars for awhile. Even the rest of the ford line up has some similar design elements, could it be that J Mays is in charge, everything has his very solid look to it.

J Mays is the Vice President of Design at Ford Motor Company, responsible for shaping the design direction of Ford, Mazda, Mercury, Lincoln, Volvo, Jaguar

I'm sure thats where some of the slight influences come from, but hardly do they look the same. hehe

Actually, you are WAY wrong.

The Edsel looks like the RX-8! Notice the wraparound rear window!

My god, how Mazda ripped off Ford. They really should not go so retro with the RX series.
