Problem with Fuse box

Problem with Fuse box
My son has a 96 GT and all of a sudden his wipers stopped working. I checked to see if the motor was bad by using a test light. It seems to be fine, but the problem seems to lie with the fuse itself. We get no "light" when we check the connector itself.
When we went to check on the fuse under the dash, I noticed that it was halfway out. When we pushed it back in, it just comes right back out. It is not staying in place. And yes it is still good fuse. (30amp per manual)
I think that the metal connectors that hold it in place may be either missing or maybe bent? How does one go about fixing this? Do we need to remove the battery and then remove the entire fuse box to fix it?
Sorry for all the questions, but I need to get this fixed ASAP as the "rains are a comin'" and he needs to drive his car to get to work, etc.
Thanks

I'd still disconnect the battery but you shouldn't have to pull the fuse box. Is this the box in the engine bay or under the dash? I'm not too sure what sort of problems you would have if it's broken inside but if they're just a bit too spread out then you should just be able to take a pick or screwdriver and lightly push the prongs in so that they'll connect with the fuse again.
