Question New 95 gt 5.0 owner, need advice please!!

So on the 18th I bought this 95 ford mustang gt 5.0, bluish/purple and i love the car. It is an Automatic(in the future may swap for a standard) but I was cruising the other day and I thought my gas was low because it was puttering and died as i got to the fuel pump. Tried to get a jump but that didnt help. Come to find out, it was my distributor. I had some royal purple oil, mobile 1 filter, new serpentine belt, new dist, rotor button, cap and ignition module in it. I did feel a rattling under the car a little when i drive, I thought it was the motor/tranny mount and my mechanic said that the mounts are good, soooo does anyone have any suggestions of what that might be?

Im also looking to do some upgrading to the car to get some more HP and have been reading ALOT! But Im not sure exactly where to start. I want to have optimal HP when I do this. I hear alot of people do h/c/i but I was thinking of possibly, doing the intake, throttle body spacer, under drive pully, and I believe the exhuast is has some kinda mufflers(dual) but Im not sure. I def was thinking about some longtube headers as well. Can Someone please give me some information on what upgrades I should start with. I know sometimes you have to think about what upgrades youre doing because some upgrades dont compliment others(more or less, can hold u back when you think its working) EVENTUALLY Im going to use my cousins old 302 he took out of his 95 mustang gt(he put a 351w in his and bored it out to 410 stroker) and do a stroker kit to that to a 347 possibly but in the mean time I want to crank every inch of HP out of the 302 I can.

Only stroke to 331, 347s have some oil circulation problems I've read.

As far as the H/C/I, that'll net you a good bit of power, especially depending on the heads you choose.

And, don't do a throttle body spacer, they do absolutely nothing for a fuel injected engine.

Yeah I heard something about the wrist pin and oil issues or something like that with the 347 but I was told if they are built right dont have a problem but maybe so many people saying it i think i should just stay away from them.

What h/c/i set up do you recommend that I get that is a good reliable brand?

Thanks for replying to me!

H/c/i either Holley or Trickflow both advertise 350 hp
As far as the rattling I had the same problem and it was the harmonic balancer

Don't have much to add to the h/c/i brands, listen to bluethunderhorse on that one, he's done it. I've got a 4.9 straight 6 in a truck, no mustang to mod

Sooo this am i went to start my car and no power to lights, locks, hazards and wouldnt even turn over. I took battery that i just bought back to advanced and they test it and it said needs charge, i charged it and then they told me it came back with good results. Something like an open circut must be draining my battery and idk what it could be? The only thing fishy about it is that my door chimes after i take my keys out when its open. Is the mustang supposed to make a chiming noise when you open the door with the keys out and nothing on? Please help

Trickflow is a good to look at. AFR also makes some really nice heads. At any rate, h/c/i will be the best bang for the buck. The other mods you mentioned would cost more and not net the same power.
