I have a 96 Mustang GT that idles rough when warms up. Also i just noticed today that the engine surges and misses at the begining of each gear. All with no CEL. These things are driving me crazy and i can pin point the issue. Ive changed the IAC, ECT and sender, and EGR. Does anyone have any input or other part i may be over looking.

 

Coils are known to do that. When they are bad and heat up they misfire. I see it alot

 

Thanks. This morning i checked them with a meter and the numbers were higher than required. Some tell me this test is not reliable but im going to swap them out anyway. Ill let you know and thanks again

 

Have you cleaned the throttle body?

 

No, but do you think it would idle rough when warm because of a dirty throttle body? I wouldnt think so , however it is on my to do list. Just fyi i bought it used and it had a CEL but i forgot to read the code before reseting the computer. The guy i bought it from said he thought the code was an O2 sensor. I woildnt think that would do this either. Needless to say i cant get the car to spit another code. I just have the issues as mentioned which are new after buying it.
