Mustang died on the side of the road today

I was driving on my way to a town near my house this morning and I got to a intersection and my engine started hesitating and then cut out. I started it back up to move it out of the intersection and it worked fine for a moment and then the hesitation started back and no matter how much throttle I gave it, it would not go past 1k rpm. I'm thinking it has to do with my fuel pressure so I'm having someone run a fuel pressure gauge over to check it. any other troubleshooting ideas I should look out for?

I had a 2003 4.6 and never had that issue but it could be a dirty throttle body air flow sensor or a loose wire to the throttle body. It may also be the computer. It could be so many things above and beyond what is mentioning and it is all a guessing game to some point. good luck and lets hope it is something minor and easy to fix.

Turns out a grocery bag went under my wheel well and covered up my air filter. From it not responding at the throttle I pumped the gas pedal and the intake shaft popped off of my MAF sensor. Hence the cutting out.

curious as to why you would go to the trouble of going forged pistons and rods on a pretty much stock build motor when the factory hypereutectic pistons are more than adequate. just curious thats all.
