Anyone ever heard of exhaust hangers making noise? At least thats what I think my current gremlin is...here's why

When I first got the vehicle, I noticed that during a slow sharp turn (u-turn...etc.) with quickly accelerating out of it, there is a creeking/almost groaning sound from what seems the right rear. Thought at first I thought it was just body flex, since there is stress on the suspension/adjoining frame in this situation. That is til one day, I wanted to hear what she would sound like with dumped exhaust. So I unbolted the entire cat-back system with intentions on removing it completely. Only to discover that I need it on a lift or cut it, not just roll it onto ramps. So after taking a listen, I bolted it all back up and now I only get that sound if I give it a little gas in reverse. Same sound, different circumsances bring it out.

Any ideas?...

I also get a pop from the rear going over speed bumps. Well, pop or short creek, depending on my speed.

It could be the exhaust rubbing on something. Also could be a bad bushing on your control arms somewhere. Do you have aftermarket ones at all?

Nope. The mods listed in my signature are what I got. Plus, just from eye-balling it, there doesn't seem to be any rubbing going on, however, the tip is slightly off center in the bumper cut-out as opposed to before.

I think your best course of action would be take it to a performance shop and get someone to put it on a lift and check it out.

OK, well, we (LindsayGT and I) found and fixed my little problem. It WAS the exhaust. Turns out after I messed with it last time and re-hung it, it was resting on the frame/underbody just back of the axle. So we unbolted it and adjusted and now that HORRIBLE noise is gone, Thank God.
Funny though, seemed like it didn't want to hang in the "proper" position, had to keep tension on it til it was bolted in tight, but, its not rubbing anywhere, and the tip is centered perfectly in the bumper cut-out, so...works for me.
