Hawk break pads

Hawk break pads
I added a set of Hawk Ceramic brake pads and power slot rotors to the front of my 04 GT. Ever since the install, im getting a sqeaking noise front the front while driving. When I apply the brakes, the noise goes away. Any ideas to what this could be ? I have checked to see if anything is rubbing and it looks fine.

My thought exactly^
If you don't wear the pads in correctly they can get "glazed" and do not provide much stopping power. What you can do is take some sand paper to them and bed them properly. If this doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

Would a bad bearing noise go away when riding the brakes? I personally do not have obvious play in my noisy wheel. . . . . hopefully I will get time today to investigate mine a little more, I am going to pull the caliper off and see if the noise is coming from the bearing . . . . Thanks for the info . . .. . does anyone know what type of open headed nuts I need to buy for the Mustang? I want to pull the wheel off and tighten down the rotor . . . . .

1/2 x 20? I think... Regardless, there should be far less play in the rotor itself than the whole wheel, since in essence they should be moving exactly the same but since the wheel is physically larger, the wobble would be proportional to the size of the object you are wiggling (wheel:rotor)

no, he would have pulsating brake pedal plus rotors are new
rotor is held on by the wheel, not anything between the two, the open headed nuts you are referring to are the wheel studs
not likely the wheel bearing if not constant noise, it is a self contained bearing assembly. if you can move the wheel by grasping top and bottom and rocking toward and away from you it's needing replacement ~$70 apiece
anti-squeal grease to the backs of the pads contacting the pistons will probably cure this
