I remember the 1995 Cobra R had a Gas Guzzler tax.
I beleive the '00 Cobra 'R' also had the gas guzzler tax.

Now to Ashleesmach1 - I, as a salesperson, do take offense that you would put all salespeople in the same catagory. :nono: It's very narrow minded of you to think there are not any honest salespeople out there. I, for one, try to treat all my customers the way I would want to be treated. My job is to make a profit for the dealership so I can make a paycheck. We're entitled to make a living just like anyone else. When you walk into a clothing store you pay what they ask for on their sticker, when you go to a restaurant you pay the price on the menu. Yes, you can look up the price of any new car on the internet, it's up to you to decide if you want to offer the dealer a profit. Just remember he has overhead and employees to pay. All I ask is that you don't put all of us in the same class.

does this tax only apply to brand new cars or recent (as in like, the last 5 years or so) as well? my uncle is looking into a 2001 BMW 750 (only 15mpg!) and i thought i might warn him...

but the mach didnt have the gas guzzler tho... how weird. it didnt have it on the maroni or adendum sticker.
Go to Ford's website, the Mach is rated higher in fuel economy that the GT (go figure?)

but more importantly if you live within 2 hours of eastern Va, your coming with me in 07 when I get a new stang! I will accept no refusal (in my best Dracula voice) [/b][/quote]
hey, be sure to hit me up. i'll be leasing an 05 for 2 years and then buying a brand new one (hopefully special edition) when i graduate from college in 2007. by the way, i'm in Springfield VA

it is only added to the price when the vehicle is brand new.

no gas guzzler tax. but i dont know when this kicks in but higher up cars get an extra luxury tax depending on what state you live in. and that is apllied every year when you pay your states personal propery taxes. if you have them. like VA
