Fuel filler neck leak???
I have a 2000 gt and the filler neck is leaking were it connects to the gas tank, has anyone else had this problem? If so what did u do to fix it? I really don't want to just get the hole neck if the o ring can be replaced.
Thanks in advance

There is a grommet where the neck enters the gas tank which you need to replace.

It'll look like that, but I had to order mine from Ford. $35 if memory serves.

You can go to any dealership and get one. Its like $25 when I got mine I believe. It can be a pain in the butt. The easiest way to do it is to drop the tank, take the neck out and then replace the gromet. Not difficult to do, just have to have patience.
Try to refrain from buying fuel with ethanol in it. I think the ethanol helps eat away the grommet and causes leaks. Don't know about your area, but around here, there are several off brand stations that are ethanol free, and all the name brands contain up to 10%. That stuff is just pure garbage in a fuel system.
The 2000 Mustang actually has a different letter at the end. The LRS-9072A is for older Mustans thru 97. For 2000 it is LRS-9072C
I just now requested mine from a Ford dealership and it's in stock for only $21.89 I'm going to get it today. Good luck to you. Hopefully my check engine light will go off after I replace this. The code comes up as an emission code at the gas tank or something like that. Apparently Ford is having issues with the grommet.
