Explain this to me, please…
I live in N. Texas. To say it kind of iced over is a huge understatement! I went out to start my car at about lunch. She was dead completely. I called my cousin who had a battery charger! I hooked it up and gave it a charge for from 4:29 to 7:10. I thought it would at least have enough charge to turn the motor over. I have kind of a cheap battery! She kicked off though!! I got in to drive so the battery could charge up.
When clock and everything was blank. This has happened before, I just forgot about it! I believe the station was set @ 87.9. I then hit my #1 preset and it all came back to how they were set. How on Earth does this happen?? I had to redo my bass/treble’s but my radio stations still were the same!! Please tell me how it does this. Does the radio itself have a back-up power source? See ya!!

It's like when I disconnect the battery to reset everything just before a service, from loss of power, the FM stations stay but I have to reset the clock /bass/treble etc that's normal but with a GT if you have a big battery and just because it's cold dying is NOT normal I'd make mention to your dealer , pending how long it sat with No usage
Eli,
It is very unlikely that ALL power was lost from the battery, the memory in the radio only needs a tiny amount of power to retain it's stations.
As for the battery losing power in the first place. Is it the original battery? If so, change it. If it is a newish battery, it might be that the alternator is faulty and not charging the battery sufficiently, or that the belt is loose and not turning the alternator sufficiently. All are an easy fix.
I deleted the 2 other "identical" threads.

Thanks for deleting those other 2!
My battery is little under 1 year old. It is an ‘I have to have one now’ kind of a thing from O’Reillys. My plans are to buy a yellow top Optima for it! My battery was dead. It is now charged up till I can buy a good one.
