Convertible top replacement

The top in my mustang is getting pretty worn and fraying around the edges bad. I'm thinking about trying to redo it myself but I'm not sure if it would be worth the pain. Anyone ever tried to replace one or is it just cheaper to take it to a shop?

Cheaper, no...unless you are like me and beat the hell outta **** when you get frustrated....then it is cheaper to have it done

Pony up the $$$ and it get it done professionally! ONE and DONE! You could do the work yourself but it's a PITA! Might be cheaper to purchase the top and then get an auto upholstery shop to install.

I agree. There is an art to doing convertible tops, and art means mastery, and mastery means professional. Or practice.
