After installing edelbrock heads, intake, 80mm MAF injectors upgraded fuel system , runs perfect!!

When it comes to nitrous my brother had 100 shot in his 04 GT , and after 3 weeks motor was dead!!!
lol. Funny cause stage 2 comp cams took my car from 234rwhp to 302rwhp. Weird. Along with my other buddy that made 298rwhp...comp 270s as well with just bolt ons.

Did you degree your cams? If you did not, im willing to bet you smacked valves into pistons. Causing the issues you describe.

'Period' Give me a break. what makes you the know all in cams in an otherwise 'stock, bolt on car'. You talk about YOUR instance. I just gave you 2 others, and I can show you many others that GAIN power from just cams. lol.

And you don't need those other mods to make the car run good. I was on Stock 99 GT MAF and stock 19lb injectors. And so was the other guy I mentioned. Money spent where needed. Not wasted.

Just becuase your brother blew up his mustang on nitrous, doesnt mean its bad. Plenty of other mustang owners have nitrous, run it, and run it well...on stock motors. For years. Ill give ya some links if you want.

Bottom line...cams will give you power over stock...with or WITHOUT stock heads and intake.

Nitrous will work on a stock GT...just need a fuel pump and good tune.

Both have been done, tested and worked. Hate to break it to ya.

Depends on the base power level, but it can and has been done...safely, over years.

Obviously a cammed 4v making 350-370rwhp...you want to be safe by staying under a 100shot to save the bottom end. A stock GT can spray a 150shot as he is only making 225ish-rwhp NA...Just make sure you get the tune and fuel pump to go with it.

Im trying to understand whats 'limited' about my truth? That you don't think I made over 300rwhp on cams. Or that my friend did 298rwhp on cams alone? Or that the stock motor dont gain from cams alone?

you thick? I didn't totally disagree. I agree gains can be had with cams better gains can be had by matching the cams with heads/intake, etc. you can also poorly match a cam spec and hurt performance .mod motors respond different than pushrods. you may see better gains from just a cam swap than my motor just from having better stock heads. A simple cam swap in my motor will net some gains but not as much as a full H/C/I.

^ Well yeah. I can agree with that. But to say you won't get ANY performance from a cam is complete hogwash. Its simply not true.

Well maybe some others said that but again at no point I didn't so I think now we are on the same page. I'd still rather go the xtra and complete the package but that is just my own opinion.

That's actually a pretty good time for what you have done.

True. But a Mod 2v will react to cams better than a stock 5.0 with a cam. Like I said. cam only, many have made 300rwhp...Hell I made 302rwhp on stock manifolds. Just saying.

@Tommy d...get some COmp 262s or Hi techs. Youll be in the 104-105mph range with those alone. Esp with the gears you already have.
