I was just wondering what you guys' think the availabilty of the older versions (the 99-04 version) for GT's and Mach's will be around MID SEPT. As you all know I am keeping my car until then, as I save up for the payments and all. I have even researched the insurance...GT - 3800$ Mach - 4000$.

So there isn't that big of a difference so I am tossed up between getting a real nice GT 2003 with low miles or heck even a 2003 (which I can't find anywhere, have you guys' seen these a lot? Are people gonna be turning these ones in at all?) or 2004 Mach1.

So I am wondering if I will see some nice GT's and Mach's (older and newer) turn up at dealerships for trade in's or what not? Any clue whatso ever, cuz I am trying to keep my spirits high, but I keep wanting to get a new car RIGHT NOW!

Thanx
Abel

You'll find 'em for sure. Many more GT's then Mach 1's is most likely, but they'll be there. For sure by the spring. New Mach 1's are getting scarce, but new GT's seem to be plentiful right now.

scott I would have taken that deal if I could get it down to about 24G's. That would be awesome, love that color too!

So you guys' think there will be some trade-in's or really good deals on new se's and gt's for Sept., God I hope you are all right! I can't wait!

Well, trade-ins probably not till the Oct/Nov range -- most likely not Sept, since there won't be anything to trade-in for yet!

But there are used GT's around now if you look (02, 03's, etc.). Can probably get a heck of a deal on them now, but I don't know for a fact.

heck, even a 2001 Cobra would be a good buy for you.

It will show you what's out there and how much they're going for. Then when you find one you can use the trader ads for bargaining leverage. That's what I did.

If you live up north like I do you'll find a lot more trades happening in the next spring.

Heck.. the Ford lot here still has 2 brand new 2003 convertibles l, both white w/tan tops and auto trans, and they just finally sold a black 2003 coupe 100th anniversary. I think that there may be (maybe too many in the eyes of the dealerships) a number of 2004's sitting on the lot when September comes. I am still eyeing a comp orange 2004, just waiting for Ford to kick in the rebate again, and if it's still there, it's going to be in my garage

I've seen new Mach 1's for 25.8K of course someone posted here said they saw a Mach 1 for 24.9, but after negotiations you could get a good 23-24Kish deal.

Check your classifieds too, and I'm sure someone mentioned this, but people will trade in old Mustangs.....or have finished leasing them....blah blah blah.

Just as all these guys are dumping their ram air Trans Am's for the new GTO, some guys will drop their Mach1 for a new Mustang.

BTW the insurance is going to be $3800 and $4000....I'm hoping that's a year of full coverage.

I haven't looked around at insurance rates too much, but 'ouch' that's a hefty price to pay to roll in style.

Mestizo - You are right, I think people will be coming up with older Mach1's and nice GT's b/c just like the people gave up the firebird in order to have the GTO, good comparo!

And 3800$ isn't that much for full coverage on 2 vehicles. This price was for my mom's GrandAm and my car put together!

Ok......I was like man that's a lot.

Probably by the time I sign for a new car....I'll be pretty close to 25.....so that will help the inusrance rates for myself.
