can anyone tell how big and wide i can go with tyre and rim combos on a stock 94gt

I've seen 17x10.5" on the back of a sn95 with not really any problems. Thats running 315 series tires. It may be a problem rubbing against the quad shock, but you can reverse it to get some more clearence.

 

i was thinking about a set of 18 inch wheels but not sure how wide to go probably 225 in the front and 285 in the rear
wadda ya think?

 

You can go wider I believe. 18x9 up front is about the largest you can go, tire sizes I would think would be in the 265 range. The back you can probably run a 18x10.5" rim with 315 or maybe 325 tires. Not sure, i would consult whoever you are getting tires/rims through.
