I would do cams and heads, but u don't know anything about them or what they would do to the car. I read about intake manifold and i was wondering how they perform in a basicly stock car
I read your post wrong, I thought you were asking how an intake manifold works......not heads and cams......ah!!!!!!

Oh well here's some info on how the manifold works anyways:

This is for carburetor engines, but it gives a good idea
http://www.musclecarclub.com/library/tech/intake.shtml

This is from some Subaru site:
The intake manifold is the component that delivers air to the engine. Formerly, gasoline was sprayed and mixed with air in the carburetor, after which this air-fuel mixture was delivered into the cylinder. In this set-up, the intake manifold was the path the air-fuel mixture took on its way to the cylinder. Nowadays, the use of fuel injection, which controls the condition of the air-fuel mixture by computer, means that only air flows through the intake manifold. In this system, gasoline is injected from the fuel injector, located next to the intake valve of the cylinder head, and mixed with the air from the intake manifold to become an air-fuel mixture.

This site has an explanation for heads and some info on cams:
http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/webmas/univers.htm

Installing new heads.....you gain a weight advantage usually 30-40 pounds....switching from iron to aluminum.

*******************************
I just found this on www.fordcobraengines.com FAQ's

What are the Advantages of Using an Aluminum Cylinder Head ?

1. Aluminum Cylinder Heads can together to save as much as a 100 lbs.
2. Have superior flow characteristics with larger intake & exhaust runners
3. Hardened interlocking valve seats which allow use with Unleaded Fuel
4. Stainless Steel 1 piece high swirl valves with 2 positive oil control seals
5. Have Bronze guide inserts for better heat transfer
6. Most are street legal and interchange with factory Cylinder Heads

I am no 5.0 expert, but the GT-40 kit should get you close to 300 ponies (cam, intake, heads, etc)

The Ford Racing catalog claims 290 HP, which should get you 13's with good traction.

I Don't know about 340 to the rear wheels with just the supercharger. they only have around 180-190 to the rear wheels stock, and with a 9psi supercharger it might be closer to 300rwhp. However If you got full exhaust, cai, tb, and maf he would be making around that. 5.0 is a great motor that is easy to upgrade and get a lot of power out of it, especially without forced induction, however thats your option to do whatever you want.

before i bothered with the S/C i would do some other upgrades first. IE exhaust, gears. converter, shift kit. they wont give you as much upfront as a S/C but they will let you make more with the S/C later. and the stock AODE is gonna need some help. After that, i would go for some suspension mods to help traction, adjustable shocks struts, and some structural support. then go for the S/C or H/C/I along with the fuel system. you would then be close to the 12's easily.

oh, and Fordracing200.................why a 306????? really no extra power going from a 302 to a 306. thats just a .030 overbore. not even worth the machine costs.

Uncle did it to his stang and it added some good power, and he loved it.
302ci is really a 4.9, not a 5.0 to hbe a 5.0 it has to be a 305 or bigger, so a 306 would be a true 5.0 too. I will ask uncle about his 306 84 he had.

Well for now im keeping my stock tranny, but once i put the supercahrger on im gona go get a tranny that can handle the power made with the supercharger. When i have the tranny im gona get the trq conv and shift kit. Im going to put 3.73's because of the supercharger( I would have put 4.10's if there was no blower). I'm gona go with a slp loudmouth catback, but i dont no wat kind of headers or X-H pipe to get.

i have mac shorties and prochamber offroad h pipe on my car now. on my 86 i had bbk shorties and their x pipe with converters. both sound good, and added good power. the mac system is louder, and i am probably going to switch out the offroad pipe this spring and go with their converter pipe.

I've heard nothing but good things about Lentech transmissions.

i still dont like big heavy AODEs or AODs, a C-4 with a shift kti and aftermarket valve body and a 2800 stall converter wil wake your car up. My uncle put one in his car and it shifted so hard (stock valve body with a shift kit and converter) that he destroyed the valve body after a night of 'normal' public roads

Basic response. Leaving the motor stock, has in the heads, cam etc with the vortech larger injectors and other needed parts and a tune will net about 300rwhp or so. Doing an H,C,I has heads, cam & intake with supporting mods ie larger maf, TB, injectors, etc and tune will get you to the 300rwhp N/A then add a vortech to that combo will get you closer to your goal.

So going with vortech is my better option in long run?I wont have to tear engine completely a part Plus the car has a 3.73 gear in it 5 speed like i said got nice exhaust system under it cold air intake & way it rides & drives you wouldn't think the car is a 94 gt,it drives & rides as good as my 05 gt.What do you think i could get me a good vortech for my 94 gt? or my better option as far as money because it really make no difference i have money stuck back for ever i decide to do.I just want me something to have a little fun in.

I would start with like a trick flow or Holley systemax HCI kit. Yes it involves tearing down the top half of the engine. But it's a simple deal. And that would make for a fun car and give you a great base if you still want to ad a super charger or turbo later.

30000 miles so far...NO problems, even when I went 171 at Talladega!!
